Dirksen Parkway, Springfield, IL Position Purpose: This position is accountable for overseeing field inspectionsꞏ and reporting the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) inspections of various Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) maintained major bridges throughout the state including routine, fracture critical, underwater, element level, special, in-depth, and complex inspections. The incumbent often acts as the on-site certified NBIS team leader of an inspection crew on major bridge inspections. The incumbent assists in the development and implementation of the IDOT Bridge Management System (BMS) and NBIS quality control (QC)/ quality assurance (QA) reviews for state and local public agency bridge inspection programs.
