Tips for OracleThis is a list of the most recent and common setting changes that need to be done on a computer in order for Oracle and specifically the budget revision template to work properly.

Solution: Add the website you are using to the exception site list for Java

3. Pop-up Blocker is blocking Oracle from working properly…………………………………………………..pg 7-8

Problem: Pop-up blocker is prohibiting Oracle from displaying its windows properly.

Solution: Add the Oracle website to the exception list in the Pop-up blocker settings to allow the pop-up windows from Oracle to display properly.

4. Excel Run-time Error 1004……………………...pg 9-11Problem: When launching the Budget Revision Journal Wizard I get Run-Time error 1004.

Solution: Your Developer Macro Settings in Excel need to be adjusted to allow the Budget Revision Template macro to run

1. Internet setting changes for Explorer 11Problem: Not able to create the Budget revision template and no error is given. Even when using Firefox for Oracle.

Solution: Update your internet settings to “allow status bar updates script”.

Go enable this setting by following these steps:

a. Open internet Explorer 11 browser window.b. Click on Tools Menu.c. When the Tools menu appears click “Internet Options” at the bottom of the Tools menu.d. Click on the security tab.e. When the security page appears, click the “Internet” icon in the “Select a zone” box and

then click the “Custom Level….” button.f. When the “Security Settings” dialog box appears, scroll down to “Scripting” on the menu

and enable “-Allow status bar updates script”, select OK.g. You may receive a warning message, select “Yes”.h. Finally click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.i. Close the browser window so that new settings can be used.

2. Java is not working properly with OracleProblem: Oracle website I am using is not on the list of Java security

Solution: Add the website you are using to the exception site list for Java

a. Go to Windows Start icon in the lower left hand corner of screen, then to Control Panel.

C. Make sure your “View by:” is set to either large or small icons and find the Java icon.

b. Right click on the Java icon and open the Java control panel.

c. In the Java control panel, go to the Security tab and click on “edit site list”.

d. Click on “Add”.

e. Type in the website you are trying to add to the exception site list. Click ok to get out of Java control panel. Retry opening Oracle window.

3. Pop-up Blocker is blocking Oracle from working properly.

Problem: Pop-up blocker is prohibiting Oracle from displaying its windows properly.

Solution: Add the Oracle website to the exception list in the Pop-up blocker settings to allow the pop-up windows from Oracle to display properly.

a. Go to Tools on your internet browser menu bar. Then Pop-up blocker, then Pop-up blocker settings.

b. Add the Oracle website you want Pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from, then close window.

4. Excel Run-time Error 1004Problem: When launching the Budget Revision Journal Wizard I get Run-Time error 1004.

Solution: Your Developer Macro Settings in Excel need to be adjusted to allow the Budget Revision Template macro to run.

a. Click End to exit error.

b. Then go to your Excel Options by following this path:

File/Options/Trust Center/Trust Center Settings/Macro Settings/Developer Macro Settings and check the box for “Trust access to the VBA project object model”. Below are the screen shots to show you how to get to this setting.

c. Click on File, then on the Options on the left menu.

d. Click on the Trust Center option in the left hand menu.

e. Click on the Trust Center Settings button on the lower right.

f. Click on the Macro settings in the left hand menu.

g. Once you check the box off you will not have to do it again. Go back and relaunch the budget revision template using the journal wizard in Oracle.
