Project Scope and daily reports Mysore KSRTC ITS project is first of its kind in India, Proving IT
solution for urban transport sector to track buses on real time with Passenger Information services, Funded by World bank and MOUD. Project Scope involves 500 VMU’s, 167 LED display at different locations of the bus shelters, 26 LCD display boards in 6 TTMC and main bus stand.

Vehicle Mounted Unit/Tracking unit is electronic embedded unit designed by TCS for fleet management system (named as Nirdeshak) as per the client requirements.
VMU is enabled with GPS and GPRS modules, which helps us to locate the exact location of the bus.
For each 10 Sec interval (Configurable), VMU is capturing the Lat/Long, Velocity, VMU ID, Driver/Conductor, Schedule/Route information and preparing the data packet and saving the data into internal memory.
Once in 10 Sec intervals through GPRS VMU saved data packets is sending to communication server.
VMU ID/IP/URL configurations, Configurations/Diagnosis parameters.

Once the routes are created system will create automated ORI/ORL files for the related route (Based on the route ID which is unique for each route) These updated route ORI/ORL files should be copied into the VMU. While sending any schedule to the VMU, VMU will verify any modifications in the available data in the VMU master, if any changes it will reject the schedule and sends the “No” Ack to server.

Web server
A Web server is a program that uses HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) to serve the files that form Web pages to users, in response to their requests, which are forwarded by their computers' HTTP clients.
Load balancer for Pis applications (http://mitra.ksrtc.in/pis/ and http://mitra.ksrtc.in/ ) are configured in web server which will share the load equally to both the PIS application server.

LED display concept and equipment’s used, working mechanism
To provide the expected time of arrival/departure into LED display boards, dedicated server is provided, in which ODBC database connection is established.
Each display board is configured using IMEI No, comport No and stop ID, these details are unique and configured in display board URL “http://localhost/gled/settings/index.php ”
using VB script, data is pulled from the database and pushed into “http://localhost/gled/settings/index.php”, Mserver console will fetch the data from “http://localhost/gled/settings/index.php” and pushed into the LED display board.
