Loading There are currently two ways to get equipment onto the stage

Elevated Loading Dock, at truck height featuring a hydraulic leveler directly onto stage

left width of the dock clearance is 10ft 6in wide X 14ft high. Due to Rhode Island Fire

Code the trailer can remain on the dock during performances however the cab must

detach and park outside the facility. Featured on the loading dock is a 3 ton trolley-hoist

motor mounted on an I-beam for assistance stacking and un-stacking cases.

Orchestra Shell & Accessories The VETS is the principal home of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra.

The VETS houses a deployable Wenger “Diva” acoustic symphony shell with Wenger

“Concert Master” roof. The roof when folded and flown out occupies 4 line sets and is

permanent. The shell walls are stored in a loft above stage left and do not otherwise

interfere with show operations.

Support Space

Dressing Rooms 20 Dressing rooms total. 9 on stage level and 9 one level above. Each floor features 5 full

dressing rooms with in-suite private shower and rest room and 4 “Chorus” style rooms

with makeup mirrors and counters. Additional rest rooms with additional showers are

located at the end of each floor. Each room features a BOSE monitor speaker with

individual volume control.

Green Room

Generally used for catering or larger scale group wardrobe, hair & makeup operations.

Located directly under stage and accessed at street level and by SR stair or SL freight

elevator, large 43’x 40’ space with 3 additional restrooms, pantry with sink, microwave,

refrigerator and icemaker. Smaller 25’x 30’ chorus room with additional makeup tables

with mirrors. Access to the orchestra pit is also found here.

Contains two high efficiency washer and dryer sets, large deep double sink for hand

washing, steamer, iron, ironing board, etc.

Truck & Bus Parking

There is the ability to park one (1) 53’ trailer on the Stage Left Loading Dock

For Load In and Load Out situations we may close some or all of Park Street for the time

needed.

Long term truck parking is available at Exit 5B on Interstate 95 20 Minutes

South of Providence.

No Shore power is available for buses at this time.

Guests Parking

Secure paid parking is available at the Providence Place Mall North Entrance, directly behind The Vets at a rate of $2.00 for the first 5 hours. To exit the lot on foot, take the north elevators or stairs located at the rear of NORDSTROM to level “B”. This will bring you to street level directly behind the theater. Proceed north up the sidewalk either side to the theater front entrance Free parking is available in the State of Rhode Island lots on Smith Street. On-street parking is available on Francis and Smith Streets.

From 95 North:

Take Mall Exit 22C. Turn right onto Promenade Street (One Way). Follow Promenade

Street to the end (the Providence Place Mall south parking garage will be directly in front

of you). Continue around past stoplight and up the hill on Promenade Street. Continue up

the hill again after 2nd light. The entrance to The Vets is located on the right, at the

corner of Park Street and the Avenue of the Arts plaza

From 95 South:

Take Exit 23 STATE OFFICES exit bearing right. Stay in the middle lane of the exit to

continue straight through traffic light on to State Street. At the next light, Smith Street

(RT 44), turn right. The Rhode Island State Capitol building will now be on your left. At

the next light, turn left on to Francis Street. The Vets and the Avenue of the Arts Plaza

will be on your right at the Renaissance Hotel.
