"Maintaining a Secure and Effective Grid through Innovation and Technology Collaboration"

Presented by TJH2b Analytical Services

This year's TechCon North America 2015 was a three-day conference

celebrating 20 years of providing top quality educational content utilizing a combination of Training Tracks, Hands-On Workshops and General Session Presentations.

The conference was held February 17-19th, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sacramento, California, across the street from the State Capital Building. It is particularly significant that TechCon North America 2015 was held in Sacramento with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, SMUD, as the Host Utility. It was 43 years ago that SMUD initiated a research project at California State University, Sacramento to develop dissolved gas analysis. That

project led to the formation of Analytical Associates, Inc., followed by TJH2b Analytical Services, Inc. and the TechCon Conferences. None of us would have been able to attend this conference were it not for SMUD’s commitment to safety, reliability and innovation. This year, the main focus was on "Maintaining a Secure and Effective Grid through Innovation and Technology Collaboration". The program was filled with timely, informative “must have” content that once again, exceeded our delegates’ expectations. A robust number of these utilities joined us this year and shared in a carefully crafted program developed with the help of the Advisory and Planning Committee and International Paper Review Committee. Together, the two committees where able to generate a renewed focus on the issues that affect the region and industry. TechCon North America 2015, presented by TJH2b Analytical Services, Inc. and hosted by SMUD (Sacramento Municipal Utility District) was a spirited discussion of technology and security developments, along with expanded asset management strategies that utilities can put to use. Our special thanks go out to SMUD (Sacramento Municipal Utility District), our Host Utility this year. The staff at TJH2b Analytical Services would also like to thank everyone attending the conference: the Sponsors, Exhibitors, Presenters (who often prepare this material on their own time, out of the dedication to this industry), and all of the Delegates for whom this conference is organized.

Because of the introduction and success of the Transformer Life Cycle Discovery Series last year, we decided to focus on transformers again. We are fortunate to have access to some of the “great minds” in the industry available to share their expertise at our conferences. Utilities, manufacturers and service companies always bring fresh and “in the trenches” insights for attendees. Here are two of the highest rated topics by attendees this year.
