QwizdomQwizdom is an audience response system that can be utilized in the

classroom/library setting. To use Qwizdom, you need a computer with PowerPoint on it and the student and teacher remotes (pictured below). Once you have loaded the Qwizdom software onto your computer, you can create a PowerPoint presentation to use in conjunction with the remotes. In the Qwizdom software when you go to PowerPoint slides, there will be an additional tab with question options. For each slide, using a pull-down menu, you will input information about the question being asked. You will select what type of question (True or False, Sequence, 3-choices, etc.), indicate the correct answer for the question, and if desired assign the question a point-value correct answer for the question, and if desired assign the question a point-value and a time interval for length of time to be shown (30 seconds, etc.).

Qwizdom can be programmed to track individual responses and report each individual’s accuracy, or it can be programmed just to indicate how many overall responded to the question or responded correctly or incorrectly to the question. This technology can be used in many ways in an educational setting. It can be used for polling student opinions, voting, and giving quizzes just to name a few.

The following is an example of how it might be used in the library. The first twelve slides are intended for 3rd thru 5th graders that have been using the library for several years, and the last 2 slides show have been using the library for several years, and the last 2 slides show how the presentation can be “tweaked” for kindergarteners (A & B choices on student remotes would be color coded with red and green stickers). This is just a starting point for a presentation for library orientation as I am sure there are many more procedures/guidelines that would be important to cover.

*Note: Prior to completing this project, I had never created a PowerPoint presentation or used Qwizdom.
