Live Swimmer Tracking

• Swimming Australia is implementing a new live swimmer tracker allowing those on land to better

follow their swimmers in the water

• Beacons will be placed on each turn and guiding boy

• Transponders will make contact with these beacons as athletes make their way around the course

• The data is interpreted by timing software which shows a dot placement on a map in real time

• The map estimates where the athletes are in the water between beacon points, and creates a live

tracking map

• All results will remain as accurate as they have been in the past. There is no change to the how the

results are received by Swimming Australia.
