HASAG is a registered charity providing advice and support to sufferers and their families affected by asbestos-related diseases. We offer a FREE and confidential service which includes help and advice on benefits, home visits, monthly support group meetings and information about asbestos-
related illnesses and compensation claims.
Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. Since its formation in
1995, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death
(YSCD). CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially
life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD. CRY promotes and
develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research.

Hello and welcome to Team Edstreme’s 4th charity pitch day, here at StadiumMK, home of the MK Dons. Having already visited two other league grounds, it is
great to be able to visit a third and experience a match day at a UEFA Elite stadium!
We are again raising money for CRY, alongside HASAG
this time and hoping to build on the success of previous events which to-date have raised nearly
£10,000!
Although this all came together at the last minute, we again appreciate your support and hope to take our
pitch day total past £11,000!
A massive thank you to everyone in attendance today helping us raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young and HASAG. Two amazing charities that will benefit
from the generosity of everyone that’s made today the event it is.
I would also like to thank MK Dons for allowing us to
hold this event at their amazing stadium.
It’s nice to see so many familiar faces on the team sheets for today from our previous pitch days; your
support at these events is always amazing and we can all be proud that with today’s event we will surpass the
£11,000 raised for charity!
Have a great day today and thank you for your continued support.

⚽ League Edstreme is started by Sean Reading in
January 2009 with 6 teams.
⚽ July 2009 sees the launch of the CRY Cup, a
competition from which all match fee proceeds are donated to CRY.
⚽ Expansion in 2011 sees a second league added
and teams increase firstly to 8 and then 16 sides.
⚽ The league changes to 7-a-side and moves to
Priory School, Portsmouth, in 2012.
⚽ First 11-a-side pitch day is held in 2013, raising
further awareness of CRY.
⚽ League expands to 24 teams in 2014.
⚽ Fratton Park pitch day in 2014 raises £2,500 for
CRY.
⚽ Madejski Stadium pitch day in 2015 raises
£5,800 for CRY.
⚽ Total raised by League and Team Edstreme
passes £15,000 in 2015.

The league was started by Sean Reading in memory, and named
after his brother Ed Reading, who passed away in July 2007 from a
condition known as Sudden Death Syndrome, during a football
match. He was a keen and talented footballer whose memory will
live on forever with League Edstreme.
On the 8th January 2009, League Edstreme played its first league
games in Purbrook Park School’s Sports Hall in Purbrook,
Hampshire. The league was between 6 teams that came together
to form a league in memory of Ed, who was known by all that
played.
In April 2011 Sean Reading and close friend Phil George formally
registered the league with the FA allowing them to grow the
league, using fully affiliated referees and raise more money for
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
In June 2014 Sean Reading and Phil George, along with the
players of League Edstreme, announced that since the league
started in 2009, £10,000 has been raised for CRY via our very own
cup competition, the CRY Cup, where all match fees go to CRY.
League Edstreme has now moved onto a state of the art 3G pitch
at Priory School, Southsea, and will continue to grow thanks to the
great support of their players.

On 12th May 2013, we hosted our first 11-a-side charity pitch day at Privett Park, the
home of Gosport Borough FC. The two teams were made up of players from Edstreme
United and Edstreme Athletic, two teams of players who play at League Edstreme and in
the Portsmouth Sunday League.

We hosted our second pitch day on 8th May 2014 at Fratton Park, the home of Portsmouth FC. There were two games taking place on the
day, with the architects derby, Holman Reading vs Helyer Davies, followed by
League Edstreme vs Cardiac Risk in the Young. Thanks to all involved we raised over
£2,500 for CRY!

day, with the architects derby, Holman Reading vs Helyer Davies, followed by Portsmouth Historic Dockyard vs HASAG. We raised an incredible £5,800 and even featured
on BBC South Today!
