Age requirements In order to be invited to the WorldSkills Canadian Trials (WSCT), competitors will be required to meet the WorldSkills International (WSI) age eligibility requirements. Competitors must not be older than 22 in the year of the WSC. Exceptions exist in Information Network Cabling, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Team Challenge and Aircraft Maintenance, where competitors must not be older than 25 in the year of the WSC.

Competitors will be selected from the following SCNC contests to participate in the WorldSkills Canadian Trials.*4-Mechatronics, 5-Mechanical CADD, 6-CNC Turning, 10-Welding, 13-Autobody Repair, 14-Sheet Metal Work, 15-Plumbing, 16-Electronics, 17-Web Site Development, 18-Electrical Installations, 19-Automation and Control, 20-Brick Masonry, 24-Cabinetmaking, 26-Carpentry, 29-Hairstyling, 30-Aesthetics, 31-Fashion Technology, 32-Baking, 33-Automobile Service, 34-Cooking, 36-Car Painting, 37-Landscape Gardening, 38-Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, 39-IT-Network Systems Administration, 40-Graphic Design Technology, 93-Robotics

The candidates will be chosen based on these criteria:In contests where the judging criteria and/or the projects are different for the secondary and post-secondary levels, candidates will be selected as follows:

The highest age eligible medal winner in post-secondary (PS); will be invited to participate at the WSCT. Should a candidate decline the invitation, it will be extended to the next age eligible medal winner PS candidate. If the three age eligible medal winners PS candidates decline, the three age eligible medal winners secondary (S) candidates will be invited to participate in priority based on the highest and lowest medal. If none of the six medal winners accept the invitation to participate or do not meet the criteria, SCC will not be sending a competitor in that contest.

Candidates participating in contests where the project, judging criteria, judging process and judges are the same for both secondary and post-secondary levels, competitors will be selected as follows:

The highest scoring S or PS age eligible candidate will be invited to participate at the WSCT. Should a candidate decline the invitation, the invitation will be extended to the next highest scoring, age eligible candidate. Only the six highest scoring competitors could be invited to participate. If none of these six competitors accept or meet the criteria, SCC will not be sending a competitor in that contest.

Les concurrents sont choisis selon deux critères :Dans le cas de concours pour lesquels les critères d’évaluation et où les projets sont différents pour les niveaux secondaire et postsecondaire, les concurrents seront choisis de la façon suivante :

Le concurrent du niveau postsecondaire (PS) et d’âge admissible ayant obtenu la plus haute médaille sera invité aux Essais. Si le concurrent décline l’invitation, le concurrent du niveau PS et d’âge admissible ayant obtenu la prochaine médaille sera invité à participer. Si les trois médaillés de niveau PS et d’âge admissible déclinent l’invitation, les trois concurrents du niveau secondaire (S) et d’âge admissible seront invités, en commençant par le concurrent ayant eu la médaille la plus haute, pour terminer avec le concurrent ayant eu la plus basse médaille. Si aucun des six médaillés n’accepte ou ne satisfait aux critères, SCC n’inscrira pas de concurrent au concours pour le domaine en question.

Dans le cas de concours pour lesquels le projet, les critères d’évaluation, la procédure d’évaluation et les juges sont les mêmes pour les niveaux secondaire et postsecondaire, les concurrents seront choisis de la façon suivante :

Le concurrent du niveau S ou PS et d’âge admissible ayant obtenu la note la plus élevée sera invité aux Essais. Si le concurrent décline l’invitation, le concurrent d’âge admissible qui aura obtenu la deuxième meilleure note sera invité à son tour. Seuls les concurrents ayant obtenu les six meilleures notes pourront être invités à faire partie d’ÉCWS. Si aucun d’entre eux n’accepte ou ne satisfait aux critères, SCC n’inscrira pas de concurrent au concours pour le domaine en question.
