Tell the event in their own words – not copy and paste internet chunks12.Chop up news paper articles and spread on a page then task pupils with reassembling the story/report13.Pick a character (resident, scientist, rescue worker) affected by a recent event and chart a happiness/opinion line for them before/during/after and event encourage to think long term
