Teachers’ Day Celebration

“Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, calibre, and future of an

individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honour for

me.”----- Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

Teachers’ Day is dedicated in the honour of educationist Dr S Radhakrishnan, who is

remembered as one of the greatest motivators of students. Such personalities have added to

the dignity of the profession of teaching and moulded millions of careers by their contribution

in the field. India as a country has always accorded a special place in society to the teacher.

Even as per our mythological or historical texts, Guru Dronacharya, Chanakya, Swami

Dayanand Saraswati, Swami Vivekanand and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore etc. have been

kept at a pedestal much higher compared to their contemporaries.Teachers Day is thus

celebrated in reverence of those imparting life lessons to future generations.

Keeping the significance of the occasion in mind, Fusion – The Cultural Society of VSIT

organized a grand celebration for all the faculty members of VSIT on 5th September 2019 at

Auditorium. The event started with the felicitation of Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Madan, Dean

(VSIT) followed by the felicitation of all faculty members of VSIT with flowers and a

bookmark as a token of gratitude prepared by the students of Art and Craft society of VSIT,

Alankrit. Addressing the students and faculty of VSIT, Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Madan dwelt upon

the rewards of being in this noble profession. The event gained momentum with a series of

cultural performances by the students of Dance, Music and Dramatics societies of VSIT

called Dazzle, Dhwanit and Tamaasha respectively. All the performances,with Retro Theme

added fervour to the event and were applauded by the audience.

The event was covered by the Photography Society of VSIT, Frames. In the end, a group

photograph of all the faculty members of VSIT was captured by students of Frames. Av vote

of thanks to all the students for making the day special for the teachers brought the event to

conclusion.
