He referred to a book written long ago about what foreigners had said about the greatness of India. He was speaking at the 'National Conference on Bhumi Suposhan - approach and practises to enrich soil for sustainable agriculture' organised by Eklavya Foundation and others in Hyderabad, yesterday. The Minister recalled that a top official of the World Health Organisation, who was a doctor of modern system of medicine, had hailed the strength of India's traditional medicine, Ayurveda, the country's medicinal plants and their usefulness. Quoting from a handwritten letter written by Marconi's grandson at the Bose Centre in Kolkata, Dr Vardhan said Glaucoma Screening Camps at PHC Garacharma Port Blair, Mar. 26 Under National programme for Control of Blindness, Glaucoma Screening Camps will be conducted on March 27 and 28, 2018 from 10 am to 1 pm at PHC Garacharma. The camps will be conducted by an eye team headed by Dr (Mrs) Anita Shah, DD (Opht) /JS (NPCB), A&N Islands to detect Galucoma and also to create awareness on Galucoma among the general public and medical staff. The Govt. of India has supplied a Medical Mobile Van to support the all the States/UTs for undertaking Active Case Finding for diagnosis of TB and the UT of A&N Islands is one among the ten States/ UTs to have received this van in the first phase, said Dr. Burma, the Director of Health Services, while speaking to the DT Reporter here today. Port Blair, Mar. 26 To convert waste into wealth i.e non- degradable waste including pet bottles which has tremendous scope of employment generation in these Islands, the Directorate of Industries has initiated a month long training programme on Waste Pet Bottle Art and Designing w.e.f 26th March 2018. The programme was inaugurated by Smti.Neha Bansal, Secretary (Industries) in the Conference Hall of Directorate of Industries today. While speaking, the Secretary Industries stated that the volume of waste in the form of pet bottles is on the high end and the Administration must take appropriate steps to curb its side effects. Therefore as a beginning, this training programme has been organized to convert waste into artifacts. She also stressed on the fact that the artifacts developed From Waste to Wealth Training prog. on waste pet bottle art & designing organized by Industries Department should have a feel of Andaman, which should further lead to mass production. On receiving a distress call from a resident of Kalara, Shri. Pulicar Kullu, a special team of Forest Deptt. lead by Shri. Micah, Forester rushed to the spot and rescued the highly venomous snake and released in reserve forest away from the human habitations. The team comprised of Shri. Cherian Thomas, Forester, Churchil, Mazdoor and DhruaUraon, Mazdoor. People must make use of the service as India has the highest burden of TB despite intensive awareness and availability of medicines. The Govt. of India's mission to eliminate TB by 2025 can only be achieved if people cooperate with the Health Department and get themselves diagnosed at the earliest. TB is curable and people must not hesitate to take treatment while the social stigmas concerning TB must be thwarted.

and school going children who cannot come to the Hospital for diagnosis.

A weekly schedule will be prepared for the visit to the villages and accordingly,

the Pradhan of the concerned village will be informed about the schedule, about

which he/she can sensitize the masses and mobilize them to come for the diagnosis.

People coughing for more than two weeks along with other symptoms like fever

and weight loss can come and avail free service during the visit of the Medical

Mobile Van, said Dr. Burma.

People must make use of the service as India has the highest burden of TB

despite intensive awareness and availability of medicines. The Govt. of India's mission

to eliminate TB by 2025 can only be achieved if people cooperate with the Health

Department and get themselves diagnosed at the earliest. TB is curable and people

must not hesitate to take treatment while the social stigmas concerning TB must be

thwarted.
