Port Blair, Mar 18 In connection with the observance of World Consumer Rights Day, 2017, the Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Unit, Car Nicobar, organized an Inter village volleyball match in Sansad Adarsh Gram, Kinyuka village for men & women, followed by a seminar in the conference hall of Tribal Council, Big Port Blair, Mar 18 The Director of Fisheries in a press release received here has clarified on a news item published in a section of news paper about Group Accident Insurance Scheme. According to the release, the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Govt. of India implements a Central Sector Component "Group Accident Insurance for Group Accident Insurance for fishermen; Fisheries Department clarifies Active Fishermen". The National Federation of Fishermen's Cooperatives Ltd. (FISHCOPFED), New Delhi is the implementing agency of the component through Oriental Insurance Co. and the Department of Fisheries of the Administration functions as Facilitator. Under this component, the fishermen / nominees of the fishermen are eligible for Rs 2,00,000/- against death or permanent total disability, Rs 1,00,000/- for partial permanent disability and a cover of Rs 10,000/- towards hospitalization expenses occurred due to accidents. The release further said that as on date, about 06 insurance claims are pending with the FISHCOPFED, New Delhi / Insurance Company. The Department of Fisheries is pursuing the pending cases personally with the FISHCOPFED and Oriental Consumer Rights Day; seminar, volleyball match held at Kinyuka, Big Lapathy villages Lapathy, Car Nicobar on 13th March, 2017. Shri Otheniel, 1st Headman of Kinyuka village was chief guest of the seminar. The Tribal Council dignitaries, all village headmen, womenrepresentatives participated in the seminar. The Assistant Director (CS&CA) welcomed the gathering in the seminar held at Tribal Council’s conference hall. Shri Wilson Amose elaborated on the rights of the consumers in the seminar. Shri Murali Mohan, DGM, NABARD, Smti Chandrika Acharya, Manager, NABARD, and Shri Manoj Kumar Lakra, Branch Manager, SBI Evening Branch, Port Blair Financial Literacy Awareness Programme held at ANCOL were the resource persons for the programme. While speaking, Smti. Chandrika Acharya said that NABARD is committed to attain the rural prosperity and tries hard to bring the changes in the rural lives. Addressing the 15th All India Meet of State Legal Services Authorities in New Delhi today, Justice Khehar said expeditious disposal of cases is the need of the hour and voiceless and vulnerable must not be denied legal aid and services. The Chief Justice said, procedures should be less in the cases to ensure their earliest disposal. Justice Khehar said, no accused should remain unrepresented and legal aid should be given to everyone as and when required. He said, the judiciary should make sure that cases will not be closed with an acquittal of an accused. Speaking on the occasion, Voiceless, vulnerable must not be denied legal aid and services: CJI Minister of State for Law and Justice Shri P P Chaudhary pitched for providing justice to the poor as well as strengthening the judicial system in the country. Shri Chaudhary said, legal services across the New Delhi, Mar 18 During the strengthening and restructuring of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme, 2 lakh AnganwadiCentres were approved for upgradation. Out of these, 87,293 AWCs have been sanctioned for upgradation and the fund amounting to Rs. 53394.62 lakh has been released to the States/UTs. This information was given by Rs 534 Crores released to States/UTs for upgradation of 87,293 Anganwadis: WCD Minister Minister of Women & Child Development, Smt Maneka Sanjay Gandhi in reply to a question in Lok Sabha. Further, construction of 4 lakh Anganwadi Centre (AWC) buildings have been approved under Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in convergence with Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme. For the purpose, joint guidelines have been issued on 17.02.2016 by Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Ministry of Women and Child Development. Dr. Anita Shah, Deputy Director (Ophthalmology) GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair Observance of World Glaucoma Week; patients screened highlighted the importance of the week and various aspects of Glaucoma and its prevention, through power point presentation. She also urged the field staffs to create awareness about early detection and management of sight threatening disease. The Minister informed the House that Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC), the nodal agency, which monitors implementation of scheme, has developed a web enabled Mobile App 'Garv' for monitoring of village electrification. During the camp, about 40 cases in Tushnabad and 52 cases in Ferrargunj were screened by Dr. Ashok Subramaniam, Joint Secretary, NPPCD with the assistance of Dr. Rooby Thomas and Dr. Anit Chand in Tushnabad and Dr. Ramya in Ferrargunj. quotation documents shall be subject to fulfillment of the Eligibility Criteria as

mentioned below followed by payment of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only, Non-

refundable) being the cost of the Schedule.

1. Valid registration certificate of establishment, copy to be submitted.

2. Production of attested copy of Income Tax Clearance Certificate for the assessment

year 2016-17. 3. Attested copy of PAN Card (legible) for the verification of signature, proprietor of the
