Fisheries Department clarifiesActive Fishermen". The

National Federation of

Fishermen's Cooperatives

Ltd. (FISHCOPFED), New

Delhi is the implementing

agency of the component

through Oriental

Insurance Co. and the

Department of Fisheries of

the Administration

functions as Facilitator.

Under this component,

the fishermen / nominees

of the fishermen are

eligible for Rs 2,00,000/-

against death or

permanent total disability,

Rs 1,00,000/- for partial

permanent disability and a

cover of Rs 10,000/-

towards hospitalization

expenses occurred due to

accidents.

The release further said

that as on date, about 06

insurance claims are

pending with the

FISHCOPFED, New Delhi /

State Legal Services

Authorities in New Delhi

today, Justice Khehar said

expeditious disposal of

cases is the need of the

hour and voiceless and

vulnerable must not be

denied legal aid and

services. The Chief Justice

said, procedures should be

less in the cases to ensure

their earliest disposal.

Justice Khehar said, no

accused should remain

unrepresented and legal

aid should be given to

everyone as and when

required. He said, the

judiciary should make sure

that cases will not be closed

with an acquittal of an

accused.
