Essentials of the TD3 Upgrade1

The amount of data to which technicians require access is rapidly expanding.

Along with the complexity of the vehicles, their systems and the difficulty level of

repairs. TD3 has been developed with all these changes in mind.

Creating a more modern easy to use tool for the technician and providing more direct

and easier access to the information needed.

The system has been built with further future expansions in mind so that the tool will

not become obsolete after years of minor upgrade in the vehicle systems.

In this trouble shooting manual we will not only assist to find the likely cause of an issue but also what team will be covering the support on the component.Make sure all components are present and hardware is connected.

• Provide ‘core’ level of support in all markets; – tailored to requirements. – Centralised purchase, stock management and administration support.

• TME will provide support organisation for both sales and service support for a 5 year programme period.

• Local representatives will work closely with NMSC’s for a seamless roll-out & ongoing support. Targeting: 100% penetration within 1 year of launch in national market.

• Single point of contact for sales, service, warranty and service parts.

• Next day “Back in business” Recovery programme.

7.3 Requesting Support

7.4 GTS to vehicle connectivity

When assistance can be charged

Warranty claims:

In case unsupported hard or software is the cause of vehicle damage or is the cause prolonging diagnosis only standard times can be claimed for the repair. Any hardware damage and/or courtesy vehicle costs are not covered under warranty in this case.

Warranty including support become void when:

Non Hard and/or software changes are implemented on a diagnostic system and are the cause of an issue interfering with tool functionality including vehicle and network connectivity.

In case a connectivity issue to the vehicle occurs, the point where the communication stops has to be identified first before looking for the cause.

There are several support teams each covering a different part in the list of component needed to establish communication to the vehicle.

It will aid Dealer Support if a high level diagnosis is carried out in case requesting support is needed.

Before a calibration can be carried out the VIN has to be programmed in the vehicle and a calibration file has to be downloaded to the PC (GTS Diagnostic tool). The diagnostic tool will have to be connected to the Internet and the vehicle. Calibration files are provided via publications, once the calibration file is stored on the PC the CUW wizard is used to implement the calibration update on an ECU.*
