    QPR Suicide

    Triage Training

    Course

    QPR Suicide Triage Training Course is an online andmultimedia course for all first responders including:law enforcement, fire fighters, EMTs, clergy, casemanagers, correctional personnel, and others who comein contact with people at risk for suicide. The coursecovers risk factors for suicide, current status of suiciderisk assessment; how to determine immediate risk forsuicide, how to document a basic suicide riskassessment, how to Question, Persuade and Refer(QPR) suicidal people to accept help and resources.

    LOSS Team LOSS Teams (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) isa program that coordinates survivor groups to provide acommunity of support to help manage the difficultgrieving process felt by survivors. A team is formed tohelp survivors of suicide find the resources they need,

    and are made up of trained suicide survivors and asocial worker/clinician. They go to the scenes ofsuicide to spread information about resources and toprovide hope for the grieving survivors. The goal of theLOSS Team is to let suicide survivors know thatresources exist as soon as possible following the death.The volunteers work as peer facilitators in weeklysurvivors groups, participate in survivor assessments,and mentor new team members.
