TAZREACH Improving access to health services across Tasmania BSIA Expression of Interest (Professional Development) Planning, Purchasing and Performance Department of Health and Human Services TAZREACH Bass Strait Islands Agreement (BSIA) The Bass Strait Islands Agreement provides funding for health professionals residing on the remote Bass Strait Islands to maintain their skills in emergency response in order to enhance the effectiveness of Tasmania’s aero- medical retrieval services. Subject to Commonwealth approval, it is anticipated that funding will be available through the BSIA from 1 July 2017 – 30 June 2018. Expressions of Interest are being called to fund clinicians who are living and working on Flinders Island and King Island to undertake professional development activities related to the provision of emergency care. Only activities that attract accreditation points for the purposes of continuous professional development will be considered for funding. A maximum of $10,000.00 is available per island. The successful applicant(s) will need to provide evidence as to the type of professional development activities to be undertaken and identify the need for the activities in order to maintain clinical accreditation. Funded amounts will be pre-approved and payment will be by re-imbursement. Evaluation of Submission of Professional Development Proposal Funding is competitive. In order to determine the amount of funding that TAZREACH can provide, information is required about the costs of undertaking the professional development activities.

TAZREACH cannot fund medical supplies, medications or the purchasing of equipment.

Below is a list of costs associated with undertaking professional development. Please tick the applicable items and indicate the dollar amounts per activity. Please complete multiple proposed budgets if there are different proposed activities planned.
