1. NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR USERNAME AND PASSWORD
If you are a new online Taxpayer, please prepare following documents to get user name and
password:
If you are individual or other company taxpayer, 12-digit TIN and National ID or Passport No.
If you are company taxpayer, 12-digit TIN and Incorporation No.
Phone number
Active email address
Required attachment documents when register account online
1. Scan version of TIN Certificate.
2. Scan version of National ID/Incorporation Certificate/Passport.
3. Scan of Filled up Online Account Registration Application form. (Download from website
http://etaxnbr.gov.bd/
4. Recent Passport-sized photograph (If you are individual or other company taxpayer).
In case Lawyer represents for the Taxpayer, lawyer should bring authorization letter from Taxpayer
to the circle office.

To download Online account application form, Taxpayer follows the steps below:

Step 2: Choose “Register Account” tab
From the homepage, Taxpayer clicks “Register Account” tab:

Step 3: Choose Online account application form
Taxpayer clicks the link Click here as mentioned in the screenshot below:

The system displays Online account registration application and Taxpayer saves application form
to his computer by clicking .

Choose a folder to save file, then click .
After that, Taxpayer can open saved file, print and fill in this form.

2. REQUEST ACCOUNT THROUGH ONLINE SYSTEM
At first taxpayer have to visit the official website of online return filing system http://etaxnbr.gov.bd/.
Here, taxpayer can find the link from where they can request for username and password for filing
return in online. Taxpayer need to submit necessary information about himself/herself for
verification. After verification taxpayer will get the username and password through email.

Step 2: Choose “Register Account” tab
From the homepage, Taxpayer clicks “Register Account” tab:

Step 3 : Register online account for income tax efiling.
At the bottom of the page “Register Account”, taxpayer can found a text like “To register account for
income tax online filing system Click here.”. Taxpayer clicks the link Click here in order to register
account for Income tax online filing system.
The system displays Taxpayer Online Services from SAP: Registration screen. From this portal
taxpayer will submit his request for user-id and password for online return filing system.

Step 4: Submit request for user Id and password for online income tax filing
After choosing the Click here link, taxpayer find the Registration screen like below.
Taxpayer open signup form by clicking in the dropdown list. First, he should choose the option-
“Taxpayer Online Service; Request UserID” as mentioned in the screenshot below.
After choosing taxpayer will click button for further procedure. In the next screen taxpayer
will find a form “TAXPAYER ONLINE SERVICE: SIGN-UP FOR USERNAME” where he/she can
input necessary information. Taxpayer have to input all the mandatory information (red star
marked) in the form.

Step 5: Add attached documents Taxpayer have to upload some necessary documents with the sign-up form. Required attachment documents are 1. TIN Certificate. 2. Scanned National ID/Incorporation Certificate/Passport. 3. Scanned Filled up Online Account Registration Application form. 4. Recent Passport-sized photograph (If you are individual or other company taxpayer).
User can attach documents before or after processing the form. In order to upload file, user follows
these steps below:
Click the Add button, then system displays screen as follow
Click Browse button to choose file from user’s computer (Note: Total size of
uploaded documents should not exceed 1 Mb and can choose various types of file such as
word, excel, pdf, xml...)
Enter name of file in title
Click Upload button to upload supporting document with return
Taxpayer can upload more than one attachment by following this process again. But the total size
of uploaded documents should not exceed 1mb.

Step 6: Check errors
After Inputting all the necessary information taxpayer should click button. If the
message appeared “No errors found” then taxpayer will go for further action.
If any irrelevant information inputted in the form then system will show error messages after
clicking the button.
Step 7: Submit Registration Form
Click Submit button to submit registration form. As soon as Taxpayer submit registration
form successfully, system displays confirmation as below:

Once taxpayer submit the sign-up form, then responsible person from NBR will verify all the
submitted information. If all the submitted information is correct, then taxpayer will get a confirmation
email including the user-name and password for online return filing system.
But if NBR person find any information incorrect, then sign up request will be rejected and taxpayer
will be notified through email including the reason of rejection.

If the sign-up request is approved by NBR then taxpayer will get a confirmation email including his
user ID and password like below.

If the sign-up request is rejected then taxpayer will get an email containing the reason for rejection
like below.

3. RECEIVE ACCOUNT CERTIFICATE FROM TAX OFFICER
If taxpayer wants to get his user name and password from circle office, then he has to submit
necessary documents to his circle office. Then tax official person will register taxpayer into the online
system.
After regitering sucessfully, Taxpayer will receive a certificate from Tax Officer as below, which is
said what is your user name and password to log in online return submission system.

4. CHANGE PASSWORD FOR FIRST TIME LOGIN
For more security, at the first-time login, you have to change password, which is generated by the
system. There are two options to change password: change on homepage and change at log in
session.
4.1. Change on homepage
Step 1: Taxpayer accesses the address http://etaxnbr.gov.bd/

Step 2: Choose “Change Password”
From the homepage, Taxpayer clicks “Change Password” tab:
Step 3: Input required information to change password
Taxpayer inputs required information to change password as below:
Username: Input your username received from email or circle office.
Password: Input your password received from email or circle office.
New Password: Input new password satisfying 3 conditions below:
Different from old password
Between 8 and 20 characters
Has at least one character, one number and one special character (1, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *)
Re-enter new password: Input new password again
Please enter the text below: Input the text that displayed in the box

Step 4: Submit new password
After inputting all required information, Taxpayer clicks “Submit” to change password:
The system displays message to inform Taxpayer that Password has been changed successfully:

4.2. Change at log in session
Step 1: Taxpayer accesses the address http://etaxnbr.gov.bd/

Step 2: Open “Online Filing” function
On Homepage, Taxpayer clicks “Online Filing” tab, then selects “Click here” link:
Step 3: Input username, password and captcha
Taxpayer inputs username and password which was received from email or circle office and captcha
as system required. Then, Taxpayer chooses Login button:

Step 4: Change password
After clicking “Login”, the system will require Taxpayer to change password as screenshot below.
Taxpayer inputs the required information:
Old password: Input your password received from email or circle office.
New Password: Input new password, which satisfies 3 conditions below:
Different from old password
Between 8 and 20 characters
Has at least one character, one number and one special character (!, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *)
Confirm Password: Input new password again
Then, Taxpayer clicks “Change” to change password.
