Kaiser University will be here during both lunches on Thursday in the Guidance Office to talk with any interested students.

Sophomores and Juniors interested in enrolling at Lake tech next year should meet with their grade level counselor to complete the 2018-19 application. The application window is open through April 15.

Lake Sumter State College is offering a free four day summer bridge program for graduating seniors interested in a Bachelor’s program with a STEM Major.Applications can be done on line at LSCC.EDU/STEM . See Mrs. Croker for more information.

Students, if you are interested in a Broadcasting Career, there is a management training program in the area looking for candidates. Please see Mrs. Croker for more information.

Any 10th grade student who would like to Dual Enroll next year should see Mr. Stevens in guidance for a PERT test form.

devourFood for Thought Word of the Day:Are those who devour voracious? Etymology would suggest so, as both words find an ancestor in Latin vorare, "eat up." 1985 - "Kojak" returned to network television after an absence of seven years with the CBS-TV special, "Kojak: The Belarus File."

1987 - John Demjanjuk went on trial in Jerusalem. He was accused of being "Ivan the Terrible", a guard at the Treblinka concentration camp. He was convicted, but the Israeli Supreme Court overturned the ruling.

1989 - Investigators in Lockerbie, Scotland, announced that a bomb hidden inside a radio-cassette player was the reason that Pan Am Flight 103 was brought down the previous December. All 259 people aboard and 11 on the ground were killed.

1999 - A bomb exploded at the government headquarters in Uzbekistan. Gunfire followed the incident. The event apparently was an attempt on the life of President Islam Karimov.
