TATA STEEL AT SHOTTONSteel has been processed on the Tata Steel site at Shotton in North Wales for more than 120 years. The plant produces a wide range of galvanised and pre-fi nished (painted) steel using steel coil supplied from the integrated steelmaking site at Port Talbot.

Shotton’s marketsThe primary market for Shotton’s products is the construction industry. The Colorcoat® range sets the benchmark for building quality and expertise.
The ShardAll 87 floors of the Shard in London are made from steel galvanised at Shotton. The building contains nearly 1,000 tonnes of steel processed in Shotton.
IKEAIKEA uses bespoke colours on its retail stores, to match its corporate identity. Shotton has produced ‘Ikea Blue and Ikea Yellow’ for many of these stores.
StadiaShotton’s Colorcoat® painted steel products and cladding systems were used in both the roof and wall cladding at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium, as well as many other stadiums throughout the UK and Europe.
Victoria StationThe replacement roof at Victoria Station in London featured a profile in double-sided Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra®. The internal colour choice of ‘Straw’ was decided following extensive research into the concourse colour scheme to ensure that replacement colours accurately interpreted the original Victorian paints.
