When he ar r ived at the Teat ro Greco, he cou ld not he lp admir ing
the amaz ing s ight before h im: Mount Etna whi te wi th snow,
i t s lush green f lanks caress ing the b lue sea where the sun re f lected ,
c reat ing a spark le of l ight and emot ion .
He began to pa int to immorta l i se such beauty so that h is eyes
would never forget what we st i l l admire in d isbe l ie f and wonder.
And so i t was that Taormina , thanks to i ts beauty and mi ld c l imate ,
became a winter dest inat ion for European nobi l i ty.
