On the 1st of August 1992 Tanks West began manufacturing FRP storage tanks at a leased premise in Welshpool. In 1996 we moved to a new purpose-built premise in Canning Vale.

With the focus on advanced manufacturing using the latest in resin technology, product quality, and excellent customer service, Tanks West are recognised as WA’s premier fibreglass tank manufacturer.

FREE DELIVERYTanks West will deliver free of charge up to 800km from our Canning Vale Factory.

Customers outside the 800km zone are invited to call and discuss their delivery location, request a quotation for additional delivery charges and/or check alternative delivery options.

Our large fleet of trucks feature purpose-built trays and low-profile trailers enabling safe and efficient transport to site. The option of a hiab truck is now available, a charge will apply based on an hourly rate.

Delivery is prompt, as trucks are dispatched throughout the state each week, and our large fleet offers the flexibility of a quick order turn-around if required.

Standard Tank fittings are installed on site as part of our delivery service. Tanks West employs professional delivery drivers ensuring the efficient delivery and fit-out of your tanks.

Tanks West have specifically designed and manufactured a range of fibreglass water tanks for the purpose of long-term storage of safe drinking water. Our uniquely formulated potable water approved resin system offers smooth, taint free, light resistant security for the storage of your most precious resource H2O.

Water Storage tanks manufactured with FRP or as often referred to as fibreglass, can sometimes conjure thoughts of chemicals, fibres, and resins, leading to the opinion that the material is unsafe for the application …but contrary to belief, storing potable (drinking) water in a fibreglass tank delivers a clean, hygienic and taint free water supply.

Yes, FRP storage tanks are made with resins, but they are manufactured using resins that match the specific liquid material.

So, when storing drinking water, your tank is made with resin suited and approved for potable (drinking water) and is compliant with the Australian Standard AS4020 – The right material …for the right job.

ADVANCED CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

When it comes to storing volatile liquids, Tanks West FRP storage tanks are a safe, secure and long-term solution. Tanks West uses superior technology and materials to build fibreglass storage tanks that specifically have strong chemical resistance through the terephthalic resin system employed in these tanks. This advanced system ensures the tanks are equipped to handle a range of chemicals, fertilisers, insecticides and herbicides.

DURABLE & CORROSION RESISTANT

All Tanks West fibreglass tanks are created to withstand the extreme temperatures of Western Australia and to resist rust and chemical corrosion. The resin technology we use to produce the highest-grade laminate eliminates any form of corrosion occurring. The proven ability of fibreglass to retain strength and flexibility is enhanced by the UV-resistant external gelcoat.

HEAT RESISTANCE

Fibreglass tanks have a great heat resistance and can withstand low-grade grass and bushfires. Fire damage to a Tanks West tank following a low-grade fire is typically aesthetic rather than structural, involving blackening or blistering of the gelcoat. Tanks West does not guarantee their tanks will survive every fire situation, but there is evidence due to their heat resistance they can stand a better chance compared to alternative materials.

LIQUID FERTILISER

We know that liquid fertiliser is a huge investment for farms, we manufacture our tanks using advanced resin technology and a dense matrix of glass fibre reinforcement to ensure superior laminate strength. At 25°C an FRP tank is 8 times stronger than a polyethylene tank. With the high specific gravity of liquid fertiliser at SG 1.33 and the new phosphorus-based fertilisers, all Tanks West liquid fertiliser tanks are built to handle liquids with an SG up to 1.5 ensuring a generous safety margin providing safe, effective long-term storage

Fibreglass is a world-renowned composite material known for its tensile strength, impact resistance and superior thermal qualities. It is a common type of fibre-reinforced plastic using glass fibre. Fibreglass is very stiff and rigid with a high tensile strength. Glass is one of the strongest textile fibres, possessing a higher tensile strength than steel wire.

Stand structure and decking must support full weight, 1kg = 1L of water. Timber decking should have no gaps greater then 1.5” (40mm). Tanks

should be tied to stand to prevent movement when empty. Pipework must be supported on stand with flexible coupling to tank.


CARTAGEWATER TANKS

Offering a range of different sizes Tanks West Cartage Tanks come in two different designs. The extended range (HDCW) and the original range (TWW).

The extended range (HDCW) features reinforced feet for secure installation, whilst the original design (TWW) features full length legs perfect for quick and efficient loading inside the tipping body of a truck.

Sizes range from 200 litres up to 15,000 litres in capacity.

Stainless Steel valves and flanges provide increased resistance against corrosion and the moulded poly fill line is more robust and long lasting than its PVC equivalent. 3” Fittings are included with the 50,000 and 60,000L and can be ordered at an additional cost for the 43,000 and 23,000L. 3” fittings allow faster liquid transfer, saving you precious time during busy periods.

The Tanks are formulated to heavy duty specification ensuring the safe transportation of volatile liquids weighing up to 1.5 kilogram/litre. This provides a generous safety margin for liquid fertiliser, which weighs 1.33 kilogram/litre.

Featuring superior chemical compatibility, the latest resin and laminate technology and high quality non-corrosive fittings, all adds up to the safe and efficient transportation of your liquid fertiliser.

Please ensure:The tanks must be securely mounted as per these instructions. Failure to do so, voids the warranty.

FERTILISERS AND CHEMICALS

The increasingly widespread use of liquid fertilisers has produced a growing demand for mixing tanks, which allow on-site preparation of fertilisers and chemicals.

Using mixing tanks, growers are able to produce individual fertiliser combinations, to best suit their particular needs.

Featuring heavy-duty industrial impeller mixers direct mounted to the roof of the tank, our chemically resistant mixing tanks are capable of blending and dissolving dry fertilisers, additives and other liquids in a water-based solution.

Tanks West manufactures a range of mechanical mixing tanks suitable for most agricultural fertilisers.

Tanks West mixing tanks utilise axial flow impellers which discharge downwards towards the vessel bottom this creates a flow pattern across the floor of the tank and up the vertical walls. This flow vector then blends with the circular flow being created by the rotation of the blade to give even mixing of the entire contents of the tank.

The batch turnover rate gives an indication of the pumping capacity of the mixer, it can be seen from the chart below that Tanks West mixing tanks are designed to move the entire contents of the tank twice each minute. In the large tanks this means the mixer is moving 20,000 litres of liquid per minute, or 30 times more than a common motor driven transfer pump.

A typical mix of say 4000 kg of dry fertiliser and 7000 litres of water would be mixed in under one hour.
