Ê Snell has allowed 1 ER or fewer in 13 consecutive home starts since Sep 12, 2017 vs. NYY, the longest such streak in the majors since 1913—when earned runs were officially kept in both leagues. LAST OUTING—On Mon vs. KC, yielded consecutive 1-out singles in the 8th inning, but got a inning-ending 4-3 double play off the bat of Salvador Perez…last started on Fri at BOS, yielding a 2-run, 2-out triple to Xander Bogaerts as part of a 32-pitch 1st inning, a career high for pitches in a single frame…has allowed multiple hits in three consecutive apps since Aug 16, his first time doing that since June 8–Aug 8, 2017 (4).

A NEW LOOK—Has made 20 starts, all since May 26 vs. BAL, four more than any other pitcher in the majors over that span…is the first pitcher to total 20 starts and 20 relief apps in a season since TOR Esmil Rogers (20 starts, 24 relief apps) in 2013, and the first rookie since MIN Joe Mays (20 starts, 29 relief apps) in 1999…before Mays, the last rookie to do it was LAD Orel Hershiser (20 starts, 25 relief apps) in 1984.
