Wireless communication link Details
CHALLENGES• Communication involves long distances communication at 400 MHz and 900 MHz frequency band.• Achieving Operating frequency redundancy for the project• Wireless link should be reliable, as continuous monitoring and controlling should be done in order to
maintain load distribution.
SYSTEM INTEGRATION DETAILS:• Prime Bidder: Siemens, Mumbai, India• Wireless installation: Sheetal wireless Tech. Pvt. Ltd.• End customer: TamilNadu Electricity Board Chennai, India• Type of system: Point to multipoint communication.(1 Master and 17 remote locations).• Operating frequency: 400 and 900 MHz• Operating frequency: 400 and 900 MHz• Maximum distance between locations: 18 Km without repeater.
PROJECT DETAILS:• Master Station has Computers with SCADA running on it. A 8 port RS232 multiplexer is used to
accumulate all remote station data. Master station communicates to remote stations within Chennaicity via 16 radio modems (8 radios with 400 MHZ and 900 MHz).
• At Master Station, Operating frequency Redundant System (Devices operating in 400 MHz and 900MHz are used.) is designed.
• System is designed with 8 wireless links operating at 400 MHz frequency and another 8 linksoperating at 900 MHz at Master station . If any of the link goes down the other link fetch the datafrom remote 17 locations.
• Remote locations consist of two radio modems with two antennas placed on the tower
