Crème Cake, Chocolate Cake, Peppermint Bark, and in case you are still hungry
and need protein, some Roast Beef. Yum!
R ichard E hosted our Annual Holiday Party and we had a fabulous party. Thank you very much Richard!!! Upon arrival we found a festive atmosphere with holiday deco-
rations around, holiday music in the air, a Christmas Tree in the Living Room, and tables set up on the patio for dining. Clark brought the bucket for donations to the kindergartner gifts and set that up near the door. We all pitched in to help in last minute items including food prep, setup, and whatever else was needed.

From the desk of the President ...
Hi Skyliners: We are heading into a new year, let’s make it a great one. We have a lot cool things coming up in the future. A big thank you goes out Richard Ebsary for stepping up to host our annual Holiday Party! It was great time. The Tall Club did something special for the Florida City Kindergarten class. We gave Santa Hats, candy canes, and hand puppets to each of the 125 kids. The kids and the tall club both had a great time paid for in part from donations from our Holiday Party. We are also in need of people to host events, no host or contact person means no event so step up and help out, please contact Clark Boggs at [email protected] or Bob Habenicht at [email protected] Jump on board and lend a helping hand. It’s not hard to host a happy hour or meet and greet. We are in need of members to fill the positions of, (First Vice President / Membership Chairmen) and (Second Vice President/Social Chairmen). Please contact me if you would be interested in these positions at [email protected] or (305) 394-1367 and I would be glad to fill you in on the responsibilities and duties. Any Non Board Member wishing to bring up a subject or make a suggestion at a Board Meeting needs to submit it in writing to a Board Member by email so we may have a chance to maybe get an answer for you or at least put some thought into your con-cern. The person making the request will have ten minutes under old business or new business which ever applies. The request must be submitted seven days prior to the Board Meeting. Your tall club has taken over the Meetup Group Tall Professionals. Most of their events will mirror our events. It doesn't cost anything to register with the Tall Professionals and you don't have to add a photo. But if you R.S.V.P. through the Meetup group, they will see who is coming and will be more likely to join us. Click here to sign up: Tall Professionals of South Flori-da . We are also looking for someone who has a good understanding of Facebook to keep the informational page on our club updated. Richard E hosted a fabulous holiday party, thank you Richard. Our Annual Moon Light Bike Ride is this month, hope you can attend. The TCI Annual Convention IS A LOT OF FUN! If you have not been to one, you should go. This year’s convention is in Anaheim and PreConvention is on a cruise ship. We need members to help us on the Board and we desperately need members willing to host an event. Hosting an event does not mean having the event at your home or apartment. It means planning the event (where to have it, arriving early to greet attendees, maintain a head count, make reservations if necessary). Please contact me to host an event or for more information at [email protected] or 954.294.0822. Does anyone have any ideas for events they would like on the calendar? Full Moon Bike Ride Shark Valley Sat Jan 19th Meet at 4 PM at the guard house, depart at 4:15 PM SHARP! Everglades Natl Park, Shark Valley Visitor Ctr, 36000 SW 8th St (US Hwy 41), Miami, FL 33194, 18 miles west of Krome Avenue Cost: $5 at Shark Valley, whatever you eat or drink at the res-taurant Come join the Tall Club for an evening sunset and full moon bike ride at Shark Valley. We will be seeing thousands of everglades birds, alligators, snakes and hear the sounds of the everglades at night. We will meet at 4 PM. at the guard house entrance to Shark Valley and start the ride at 4:15PM SHARP! We should be able to watch the sun setting on the way to the tower and at 5:54 PM watch the sunset from the observation deck on the tower. The full moon will start rising at 4:28 PM. The full ride should take about 2 hours and 15 minutes and is a total of 15 miles. You will need to bring your own bike. After the ride we will stop at Miccosukee Resort & Gaming located at the corner of SW 8th Street (US Hwy 41) and Krome Avenue (SW 177th Ave) for dinner at their International Buffet Empeeke Aaweeke, located directly above the main entrance to the build-ing. Please RSVP to Bob at 954-294-0822 or email [email protected] (please include your name and cell phone number in case we need to contact you the day of the ride). Join us at the restaurant if you don’t want to do the bike ride option. IMPORTANT: 1) you need an operating tail light and headlight on your bike (rubber band a flashlight to your bike), 2) DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING LOT AT SHARK VALLEY!!! Park along US-41 outside the entrance to Shark Valley as the Shark Valley parking lot will be locked when we return from the ride. Click for map

We had a great time catching up with each other and had a large attendance. We had a great menu with Roast Beef, Ham, and Turkey, Shrimp and many more items including several desserts. Mary and Robert passed out raffle tickets and awarded several lucky attendees with gift cards and other items. Attending were Richard E, Bob and Jeri, Sue O, Pam K, Clark and Mara, Therese, Paul and Eileen, Al and Carina, Susan W and Bill W, Susan N, Maria (Richard A was not feeling well so did not attend), Pat M, Tom and Bette, Mike and Joyce, Pe-ter and Norine for a total of 23. BOARD MEETING

As we have done for many years, in December we
hold a Board Meeting and then assemble the gifts we
are presenting to an entire kindergarten class at a
Miami-Dade County school. The Board Meeting
completed, we unpacked the boxes containing a
Flashing Santa Hat, furry little Hand Puppets, and
Candy Canes. We set up an assembly line with Di-
rectors of Quality Control opening the Flashing San-
ta Hats and insuring they will flash. Defective hats
are set aside with the good hats being passed to the
Director of Insertion-Toys who stuffs a furry little
Hand Puppet into the hat. The hand puppets include
giraffes (our favorite), pigs, dogs, cows, cats, rabbits,
lambs, and more. Then the candy cane is processed
by the Director of Insertion-Food Products and
stuffed into the hat, and the completed product is
stuffed into a box. This year we had Therese, Clark,
Mary, Robert, Barbara, and Bob and Jeri assisting
with this task. The following Monday the gifts are
presented to the Kindergarten Class members. It is
always a rewarding event with the children thanking
us and happily playing with the gifts. Thanks to all
who supported this with donations at our holiday
party, and to those assembling and presenting the
gifts, and thanks to Mary for some of the photos.

Tall Club of Miami Board Meeting Minutes TALL CLUB OF MIAMI BOARD/BUSINESS MEETING DATE: November 8, 2018 LOCATION: Deli Lane, South Miami BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Clark, Bob, Therese, Mary BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Barbara ALSO PRESENT: Robert M. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. MINUTES: The October 11, 2018 minutes were approved as read. TREASURER'S REPORT: Bob provided us with an update on our membership and dues. MEMBERSHIP: No new members at this time. SOCIAL: November 11, Palm Beach Bike Ride and dinner; December 7, First Friday, Season's 52; December 8, Holiday Party at Richard E.'s home; December 13, Board Meeting; December 17, School Gift Presentation; January 4, First Friday, Season's 52; January 10, Board Meeting; January 19, Shark Valley Moonlight Bike Ride. OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: None. There being no further business for discussion, Bob made a motion to adjourn the meeting; Therese se-conded; all in favor.
