Joseph Mendel took 1 seed from a true bred plant (which means same factor), so he took a plant from a true bred wrinkled seed with a flower from a true bred spherical seed. He came to discover a 3:1 ratio. For every 3 spherical seed there is 1 wrinkled seed. The spherical seed is dominant, which means always shows if it is there. The wrinkled seed is recessive which means if a dominant gene is present it is masked. The logical thing to think was that the motivated plant would grow taller. The other most natural thing to think is that the discouraged plant will grow to be the shortest. My thinking, or the natural thinking of humans caused me to come out with an incorrect hypothesis. Talking To plants

By: Kam BoutinIntroduction

I grew fast plants to test the affects of different emotional

voices towards plant height

Fast plans are specially bred plants which can grow at

an increasing speed rate

By different emotional voices I mean using mean

language, and happy language, both are different emotions.

I preformed this experiment by recording good talk, and

bad talk and played it to it’s own plant 45 minutes a day.

During the experiment I tracked the growth of all of my plants

by measuring them in centimeters and recording it on and

excel sheet

My hypothesis was that the plant who had motivated

talking will grow good, the put down plant will grow bad, and

the control plant will grow somewhere in the middle.

Conclusion

The conclusion I came to is that it is hard to

conduct an experiment. It is also hard to

conduct an experiment that has no way at all

to be effected except by the experiment. To

have that sort of experiment there must be

the perfect conditions no exceptions at all. I

know for a fact just like a contract every

experiment has a loophole/conflict.

Results

Peak Height

In the end I came to some ironic conclusive results. The

peak height of my control plant was 8 centimeters tall. The

peak height of the plant who was being motivated was 12.5

centimeters tall. The peak height out of all plants and for the

plant who was being discouraged reached a whopping 18

centimeters tall.

Discussion

My hypothesis was so incorrect it is more off

than the theory of blending. Blending was the theory

that if you pollinated a red flowered plant , with a

white flowered plant their seed would grow to have a

pink flower. This was the theory of genetics before

Joseph Mendel came in. Joseph Mendel took 1 seed

from a true bred plant (which means same factor), so

he took a plant from a true bred wrinkled seed with a

flower from a true bred spherical seed. He came to

discover a 3:1 ratio. For every 3 spherical seed there

is 1 wrinkled seed. The spherical seed is dominant,

which means always shows if it is there. The wrinkled

seed is recessive which means if a dominant gene is

present it is masked. The logical thing to think was

that the motivated plant would grow taller. The other

most natural thing to think is that the discouraged

plant will grow to be the shortest. My thinking, or the

natural thinking of humans caused me to come out

with an incorrect hypothesis.

Isolating Variables

This experiment could have had better isolated

variables. The control plant was placed in a GREEN

soda bottle which could have caused some version of

a green house gas. I don’t know this for a fact but it is

the most common theory in my research.

Cut soda bottle 1 centimeter below shoulder. Take bottle cap off the

top half and drill a ¼ inch hole in it. Twist cap back on. Cut some

cotton string 6 inches long. Thread the rope through the bottle cap.

Hold top half of bottle with string through the bottle cap and fill the

skinniest part of the bottle (as known as the lip). The string should be

secure in the top half of the bottle. Then fill the rest of the top half with

seed start. Mix 100 milliliters jacks dialated soil to 700 milliliters water.

Fill 2 liter bottle with water then get a cap fill of the jacks solution and

put it in the 2 liter bottle and mix it up. Fill the bottom half of your bottle

3 inches up with jacks diluted solution. Take top half of bottle and

place it inside the bottom half this time with the cap facing downwards.

The cotton string needs to be in the solution. Soon after take 20 fast

plant seeds and put them on the seed start. Don't bury the seeds more

than a centimeter below the top. Water every plant carefully each day.

Record a nice plant talk, and mean plant talk. Put each track on their

own CD 69 times. Take the Same CD players and same head phones.

Play each CD the same amount of time each day. Track the growth of

each plant every day.
