Take3 can also be used for a variety of

assays that might be run in a 96- or 384-

well microplate, saving precious samples

with low volume capability. The BioCell

and cuvette measurement locations allow

rapid 1 cm direct measurements of nucleic

acids, proteins or nearly any analyte typically

measured in a traditional spectrophotometer.

Researchers today look for ways to maximize productivity and minimize costs wherever possible. Minor bottlenecks

in the workflow can cause major delays in downstream processes. One of the most effective means of keeping the

workflow moving and keeping costs down is to use instrumentation that can serve multiple users and applications

and minimize the volume of reagents and samples required. Microplates, primarily 96- and 384-well, have aided assay

miniaturization and increased throughput, and are the standard for a vast number of biomolecular applications.

Newer technologies are available that allow even smaller, micro-volume samples to be measured in key areas like

nucleic acid and protein quantification.
