We invite you to take part in our inaugural #LaborOfLove Sunday event on Sunday,
September 4.
On this day our doors will be closed — there will be no Sunday
School classes or church services within the building, as we go out to be the
church in our community and bless others through our service.
All members and guests of the Keith Church congregation are encouraged to
take part in serving others through various activities. Be creative! Come up with
your own activity or participate in an activity organized by the church. You may
choose to serve as an individual or participate in activity organized by a group of
people, such as your Sunday School class or UMW Circle.

You’re invited to be a part of a new Bible study starting up this fall at Keith Church, led by Pastor Dave Graybeal.
Disciple Fast Track is an adaptation of the original, bestselling Disciple Bible Study which came out 30 years ago. According to Cokesbury.com website, this new incarnation of the classic study is especially designed “for busy people who are seeking a comprehensive engagement over time with the entire biblical text.” FastTrack is a two-part study that will roughly follow the school year, with 12 weeks each “semester.” The fall semester covers the Old Testament and the spring semester covers the New Testament. There will be some homework – it’s a very manageable 3-5 chapters of the Bible daily in preparation for each week’s group meetings – but there are no tests to take or essays to write! The group will gather each week for one hour and 15 minutes in which a brief video presentation will launch a discussion of the session’s readings and
Blessing Others Through Service
Here are a few questions to consider when choosing your activity:
¦¦ Where are people who aren’t in church on Sunday morning? ¦¦ How can we be a blessing to them? ¦¦ How can we be a blessing
to those who have to work on Sunday? ¦¦ Who could use a cup of coffee, a few gallons of gas, or a few extra groceries?
¦¦ How can we reach out to our hospitals, gas stations, restaurants, and to our police and emergency personnel? ¦¦ If you are
traveling for Labor Day weekend, how can you be a blessing wherever you will be? ¦¦ How can we bless those who are traveling
through our area that day?
topics. Participants will also have the opportunity to complete a spiritual gifts assessment and discover meaningful ways to serve and live out your discipleship.
One of the most impressive things about Disciple Bible Study is that its goal has always been not just information, but transformation.
Please prayerfully consider committing to participate in at least the fall semester (Old Testament) of this study. We will offer the study on Sunday evenings from 6 to 7:15 p.m., beginning September 11. There will be a few Sundays off and finish the semester mid-December. The cost of the study guide is only $15. Please sign up by calling or stopping by the church office (423-745-2612) on or before August 28 if you are interested in participating so that we may order enough materials for you.

Dear Members of Keith Memorial,
I want to thank your “prayer warriors” for praying for my hus-
band during his cancer illness.
It has given “us” and me strength to get through each day.
God has blessed us with so many friends and family praying,
caring and loving us through this storm. His battle is over and
the victory is God’s! He has a new body and is rejoicing in all
God’s glory.
In His Love,
Mary Thurman

NOC SEEKS VOLUNTEERS If you are looking for a rewarding project, Nourish One Child
has volunteer opportunities for you!
Sign up to pack the food bags for the children who receive
food as a part of the NOC ministry. This takes about an
hour on a Wednesday afternoon or evening.
Volunteers are also needed to serve as back-up food
delivery drivers for the people who deliver regularly. This
would include picking up carts of food bags from the church
and dropping them off at the school on an as needed basis.
Here’s how to volunteer:
To pack bags, call Connie Vincent at (731) 697-8119 or
Carolyn Grimmett at (423) 745-7333, and to serve as a
back-up driver, call Myra Patterson at (423) 462-4677.
We had an amazing summer (some pictures above), and
will be spending the first half of August preparing for an
incredible 2016 - 2017 school year.
