First, let me introduce myself. My name is Lucia and I’m a Mindset and Results Coach, Iwork with people who want to change their life, improve their situation, achieve newgoals and do what it takes to get the life of their dreams. If you follow me on SocialMedia or, know a little bit more about my story you know that I’m also a Speaker and aMusic Therapist. I believe that everyone has the right to live a happy and fulfilling life and that it is ourmust as human beings to follow the steps to achieve it and get the life we truly want. One of the biggest limitations I see people have is believing in themselves, having theconfidence, motivation and drive to pursue that thing they desire. I hear all the time howmy clients tell themselves the story that “they can’t”, or that something is “impossible”, orhow they avoid trying in case they fail. Even if you’ve tried a thousand times and areabout to give up, I want to help you change your story from “I can’t” to “ I DID IT”. I believe that mistakes have the wonderful quality of teaching us to become even betterand that if we use the things that happen for us as opportunities, we can live the kind oflife we all desire. 1. GET CLEAR ON WHAT YOU WANT ANDKNOW YOUR CURRENT SITUATION

In order to go from where you are to where you want to be, you nee to know a coupleof things: your current situation, your destination, knowing exactly what you want andthe obstacles that are keeping you from it.  Mi first question for you is, Do you really know what you want?. I see this all the time,people who complain about their situation and want things to be different but when youask them what they want they say that they don’t know. Even some of my clients cometo the coaching sessions and when I ask them what they want to work on, their answeris “I DON’T KNOW”. Some of my clients, first started working with me because theywanted to change their life, they wanted to do something different, they wanted theirlife to be different and they wanted to feel in a different way, but didn’t know WHATTHEY ACTUALLY WANTED. Fortunately, knowing what you don’t want, can be a starting point to figuring out whatyou really do want. But let me tell you that, 99% of the time, people DO KNOW whatthey want, they are just scared to admit it or say it, feel fear for being judge of failing orthey believe that what they want is not within their reach. So, if you were to be 100%honest with yourself, what would your answer be if I asked you WHAT DO YOU WANT?.And please! Don’t judge yourself, don’t let your fear come in saying “you are crazy”, “it’simpossible”, etc. Feel free and be LOVINGLY HONEST, it’s ok, WHAT DO YOU WANT?.  You also need to be honest with yourself about your current situation, you need toknow your starting point. If you want to go from New York to Paris, you need to knowyou are in New York, because if you think you are in London, things are going to turnout a lot differently. Describe your current situation and be as specific as possible.  And the last part of this First Step is to think about the things that you think have keptyou from achieving what you want. It is SUPER IMPORTANT that you see yourself as100% RESPONSIBLE for your own life. If you think that your current situation is theresult of X, Y and Z (your past, your family, your parents, your boss, the economy,something that happened to you,etc) you need to start rethinking your situation. Youare 100% RESPONSIBLE for everything that you do, say, think and feel. You can’tblame others for your circumstances, and If you have been doing so, it’s ok, know that:starting NOW you have the power and the ability to change your situation.  We will talkmore about this on step 3. So, being, again, 100% HONEST with yourself, WHAT DO YOUTHINK HAS KEPT YOU FROM ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS?.

Take your time to answer these questions, be as specific as possible. Be honest, butalso be loving to yourself. Know that by being here, by reading this PDF and byanswering this questions, you are taking a step forward, you are actively working onimproving your life and you are taking the First Step to achieve your GOALS.

What do you want to change?

How would you like the situation to be?

2. DISCOVER YOUR INNER STRENGTHSAND LIMITING FACTORS

You need to know what your strengths are, that way you can use them in your favor toachieve your goals. And you also need to know your weaknesses in order to beprepared and avoid your weaknesses from taking your backwards. We are all unique human beings and have our own personal INNER STRENGTHS. Thething is that, most of the time, we don’t take time to think about our own strengths. Weare so focused on our weaknesses and everything that we do wrong, or that we wouldlike to change or be different, that we don’t take a moment to acknowledge our ownSTRENGTHS and GIFTS. When I star working with a new client, one the questions on my“First Session Form” that I ask my clients to fill and send me before our first session, is:“List 5 of your personal strengths”. I can’t tell you how many times I get a new clientwho leaves this question blank, answers “I don’t know/I don’t have any” or even if thequestion is answered, there is less than 5 strengths. Why does this happen?. I think ishas to do with the fact that we are not taught to see our own strengths as tools toimprove ourselves and be better. And because nobody ever taught us to take the timeto acknowledge our own strengths. My next question is: how can you use yourstrengths to achieve your goals?. If I ask you, I’m sure that you can think of a timewhere you went through a hard or difficult situation. How do you think your strengthsaided you at that time?. Knowing this is ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT, because if youknow how your strengths have serve you in the past, you will know how to use yourstrengths in the future. And as important as it is to know our own strengths, it is to know our own weaknesses.We can’t be perfect at everything, all the time. There is always some things that we arenot so good at, that we don’t really enjoy doing or that we just know can be anobstacle in our journey to achieve our goals. You need to be as honest as you were inStep 1, and think about the things that get in your way whenever you ate truing toachieve your Goals. Be HONEST with yourself and think about the reasons why theyare an obstacle. Knowing all this is a very positive thing: when you know your flaws andweaknesses it is easier to anticipate and prepare for difficulties.  For example, If I know that every time I try to go the Gym I end up in the couchwatching TV, I can see that there is something that is actually keeping me fromachieving my Goal of going to the Gym (call it laziness, lack of motivation, not a strongenough why, you name it, whatever it may be...). So, how can I anticipate, and beprepared so that every time I see myself heading to the couch instead of the Gym, Imake sure I end up in the Gym?.

In order to make sure you follow trough no matter what, and you stick to the path toachieve your goals, you need to know your WHY. Your WHY is the power behind youractions. If you have a big enough WHY you are going to do whatever is needed inorder to achieve your Goals, and you are going to keep going when things get difficult.If you are not doing what you need to do to achieve your Goals it may most certainlybe that you don’t have a strong enough WHY. In other words, you don’t have strongenough reasons to pursue that thing you are after. So, Why do you want that thing thatyou want? Remember to be as specific as possible. Be honest with yourself and don’t forget thatright now, by doing this, you are taking action and you are working on your GOALS.

3. KNOW WHAT STEPS YOU NEED TOTAKE

And ultimately you need a Road Map. From what we have been working on, right now,you know where you are and where you want to go, you know what your strengthsare, and you are prepared to avoid the obstacles that tend to appear in your path. And,most importantly, you know your WHY, you know what drives you and motivates youto go after your goals. So now, it is time to figure out the steps, to think about what is itthat you need to do in order to go in the direction of your goals.  Sometimes I see my clients feel overwhelmed because they look at their BIG GOAL andit looks so BIG that they don’t know were to start. They may even feel overwhelmed,scared or paralyzed thinking about “all the things” they need to do to accomplish whatthey want.  My recommendation here is: break down your Goals into smaller Goals. Go one stepat a time. Turn your Big goal into bite size pieces. Simplify and turn your goal intoaccomplishable steps. Steps that are “easy enough” for you to know that you canachieve them, but not so easy, so that you stay motivated enough to go after them. Also, don’t focus on “how much you still need to do” or “everything you have left or thatit’s missing”. Know where you want to go, but focus too on the path that you havealready walked. Acknowledge yourself for being were you are and having come so far.Celebrate all your victories and use that positive feeling to keep moving forward.  So, what can you start doing differently today?. What is the first thing that you can doTODAY that is going to take you a step further in the direction of your GOALS. Knowing that you are 100% RESPONSIBLE for your own life. What is the first thing thatyou can start doing RIGHT NOW, that is going to definitely change your future?. Write down everything that you need to do. Break it down so that it becomes moremanageable. PUT A DEADLINE to your Goal and break it down so that you know yourmilestones and you know what you need to accomplish every month and every week.This way, you’ll know what the things are that you need to do every day and what thesmall steps are that will take you further every single day from now on, until you reachyour GOAL. Remember to answer this questions being  as specific as possible. The moreinformation you have, the easier it will be for you to know what you have to do.
