PLENARY 11:00 Collaboration APIs for Enterprises, Developers, and Telcos

Tropo has joined Cisco’s Collaboration Technology Group. The Tropo you know and love remains the same, and will continue to get even better. AND with Cisco Spark ultra high-quality video and collaboration tools are available for every remote team, class room, space station and home office. With Collaboration APIs on all this stuff, the possibilities are amazing!

Jason Goecke Founder and CEO Tropo

11:20 SMS value chain is broken! Making an SMS API work is hard. Some of the challenges include: latency, especially when the carrier infrastructure starts queuing; the hub and spoke aggregation model is driven by least cost routing, not quality management; there is no method to ensure messages are routed correctly; and each market has different regulations. Oh, did I mention that the carriers' spam filters can block legitimate sensitive traffic? I'll discuss why it is critical to solve these challenges holistically to make the SMS API work and scale.

Tony Jamous Founder and CEO Nexmo

11:40 The hSenid Mobile Way for Enterprise Service Innovation: Beyond APIs Telecom APIs are good but unfortunately they don't by themselves generate lots of new services. hSenid Mobile have solved the telco service innovation conundrum. We will case study of applications and products that have emerged so far with an enterprise focus.

Dinesh Saparamadu Founder and CEO hSenid Mobile

12:00 Using Real Time Communications to get the most from Tablets Pinig are manufacturing and selling fully managed Android tablets, meeting the specific needs of groups such as children, executives, elderly, and more. Pinig are in the process of launching embedded real-time communications to better support customers. Manjeet’s ultimate goal is to achieve an Amazon Mayday experience on Pinig tablets so everyone gets the most from pervasive personal computing (tablets).

14:00-14:20 Ditch constraints and finally start (connecting YOUR world of things)!

Sascha Wolter Senior Manager Connected Home Deutsche Telekom M2M, Industry 4.0, Smart Home, Smart City, Wearables, and Ambient Assisted Living: However you like to name it, the Internet of Things is everywhere! But it’s not just about generating business value, it’s not about the latest technology in the first place. It’s much more about creativity and finding or creating new needs. It’s about innovating with value. But how can one innovate with all these complexity, concerns, constraints, and regulations? How can one release the various fears of colleagues and customers? Sascha will inspire you with a bunch of odd and sometimes uncanny samples while introducing you to a playful way of hacking your very own connected (and hopefully smart) world that matters.

14:20-14:40 My Experiences of TADHack as a Telekom Employee

Sebastian Schumann Service Platform Development Expert T-Mobile Slovakia Every telecom employee should take part in TADHack, not only because TADHack is for everyone. Rather how we create new services has changed so dramatically, the only way to understand how easy it’s become is to experience it firsthand. In April I created in 24 hours a service that would cost millions and take over one year to create using the old methods. We have to change, and TADHack is your fast-track route to understanding the power of new technology in telecoms.

PLENARY (continued) 17:20 Dangerous Demo: The TADCloud MNO Teaser

At TAD Summit 2013, it became apparent that most application developers were challenged to demonstrate their solutions without a Mobile Network upon which to host them. Consequently, a Group of TAD Members decided to work together to build a 'Cloud Based Mobile Network' to show off the capability of their systems and to provide a network platform into which other Application Platforms could interface their components. The first iteration of this, showing a basic mobile core network was demonstrated at TAD Summit 2014 in Istanbul. This consisted of Truphone Network services working through OpenCloud Hosted Open Source IMS (Project Clearwater from Metaswitch) together with Restcomm Application Services (from Telestax). This session will introduce the component parts of the 2015 TADSummit Demo (TADCloud MNO) and will outline their functionality as a preview to a fuller demonstration during the breakout sessions on Wednesday.
