For eligible veterans, theLCWC has a DisabledVeterans Outreach Program(DVOP) Representative tohelp you through your jobsearch. The LCWC DVOPcan offer eligible veteranssupport through intensive jobsearch assistance, career andexperience assessments,referrals to veteran serviceorganizations, educationaland job training opportunities,interviewing techniques andnetworking skills, and resumeassistance. Please visit ourFort Collins or Loveland Office, or contact 970-498-6600 to learn if youqualify to work with a DVOP Representative.

Training and Internship Services

Have you experienced a jobloss from the InformationTechnology (IT) or AdvancedManufacturing (AM) fields andseek to gain new skills inorder to re-enter theworkforce?

The TechnologyEmployment in Colorado Partnership (TEC-P) project is led by theDenver Office of Economic Development (OED) with funds receivedfrom the U.S. Department of Labor. Funds are used to upskill long-term unemployed (more than 27 weeks) and underemployed jobseekers from the IT and AM fields. The project focuses oncollaborations between employers, educational institutions, and jobtraining programs.

Scholarship assistance of up to $5000 and limited internshipopportunities are available to eligible job seekers. If you have beenunemployed for 27+ weeks or are underemployed, already have theeducation and experience needed for IT and AM jobs, and are lookingto achieve advanced credentials in IT or AM, please contact theLarimer County Career Transition and Training Team at970-498-6694.

Community Resource

Meet the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), a local partnerwith the LCWC.

DVR is a state agency that helps individuals with disabilities preparefor, obtain, advance in, and maintain employment by providing a rangeof services based on an individual’s employment needs and goals.

Some of the services your local DVR office provides include:

One-on-one vocational rehabilitation counseling and guidancePre-employment transition services to students with disabilitiesPhysical and mental restoration servicesTraining services, including vocational, academic, and personaladjustmentJob-related services, including job-seeking skills training, jobplacement, and job coachingSpecialized services for individuals who are blind, deaf, and deaf-blind, including interpreter services, note-taking services, andreader servicesRehabilitation technology services, including assistive technologydevices, assistive technology services, and rehabilitationengineering services to address barriers encountered withemploymentSupportive services, such as maintenance, transportation, personalassistance services, and services to family members may also beprovided if necessary

Rehabilitation counselors work closely with eligible job seekers todetermine employment goals, identify, and arrange for the services thatare needed to achieve those goals.

DVR is a trusted partner in helping job seekers find meaningfulemployment. DVR constantly works to build relationships withemployers so their clients can compete with employment opportunitiesand obtain jobs that meet their clients’ needs.
