Reduce energy consumption in existing buildings considerable by using exhaust air as energy source for heat pump solution.

Potential: Ten thousands of existing multifamily homes are today simply “blowing the exhaust air from kitchens and bathroom out in the blue”.

One example is the Swedish “Miljonprogrammet” where one million homes were built between 1965-1974. Over 300 000 flats are still not renovated and could in many cases be targeted with this application.

Making use of the energy:

Install a heat pump solution and use the exhaust air as energy source - install a heat pump in the basement and an air/brine heat exchanger on the roof and connect these with two brine water pipes

Connecting the heat pump to the existing heating system:

The heat pump will produce both domestic hot water as well as heating for the hydronic heating system. An exhaust air heat pump will normally cover ~50% of the energy demand with suggested solution

Connecting to the current system - the heat pump will be connected to the existing heating system (District heating or gas/oil), The heat pump controller will communicate with the existing heating system
