From the Principal…
Around the world, today is
celebrated as April Fools’ Day – a
light-hearted holiday when practical
jokes and humorous hoaxes become
popular. ! e exact origins of the day
are unknown, but one explanation
is related to a calendar
change. In 1582, France
o" cially changed from
the Julian calendar to
the Gregorian calendar
that we still use today. In
the Julian calendar, New
Year’s Day was celebrated
around April 1, and
according to legend, there
were people (“April Fools”)
who forgot that New Year’s had been
moved to January 1 and continued
to celebrate the beginning of the year
at the end of March for several years
a# er the change. Supposedly, poking
fun at these individuals eventually
became a national holiday that we
still celebrate today.
Our students in
grades 1-8 have the opportunity to go to FACCS Jr. Fine Arts Competition
on April 22. All fees
and forms should be
turned in to register
your child for their events.
Step Up scholarships are open to new families at www.stepupforstudents.org.
Kindergarten Open House will be
Monday, April 4, at 7 pm. All kindergarten students and families are
welcome! If you know of a prospective student,
please let them know.
The Kindergarten
Spelling Bee will be April 8 in the CEC. All parents and grandparents are invited to attend!
The High
School Drama
department
will be presenting a dinner drama on April 8 at 6
pm in the Schmul Center. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased
in the academy o" ce.
If you still have the
spring photo pictures, we need you to return them to the o" ce or bring in your payment if you would like to keep them. Please
return them by April 8. ! ank you!
We will have
Spring Break from April 11-15, so there will be
no classes for the
academy. Classes will resume on April 18.
Due to college Spring Break, the cafeteria will be closed on the week
following our spring break from April 18-22. In the next Friday Facts we will have an order form that you can & ll out the days you want to purchase pizza from the senior class. ! e completed form should be turned in at least one day before you want your child to have pizza. ! e pizza will be delivered to the classrooms at lunch time. If you do not
purchase pizza, you will need to pack
a lunch for your child. Please be sure that your child’s lunch does not require a microwave since they will not be available.
The Senior class has rescheduled their 3 on 3 Volleyball Tournament for Saturday,
April 30. ! e cost is $35 per team.
