= G5550 The first Greek term is chronos, meaning time on the
move, time as before and after, time as the future passing through
the present and so becoming the past. From this Greek word chronos
we derive such English terms as chronic, chronicle, and chronology.
Thus, we call an illness chronic if it lasts a long time. A
chronicle is an account of events through a sequence of time.
Chronology is the itemized, studied measurement of time.

= G 2540 Kairos, because it is present, is an icon of eternal
life. To experience the now, after all, one must be alive. The dead
know nothing of now. Therefore, the now, the kairos, is an icon of
the life of heaven. Indeed, eternal life is an everlasting now, in
which there is no sequence, no before and after. Here on earth,
kairos is time as significant and decisive when special things
happen. Fr Patrick Reardon, orthodoxy today

useternal life. 26 These things I have written to you concerning
those who try to deceive you. 27 But the anointing which you have
received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone
teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all
things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught
you, you will abide in Him. 1 Jn 2:25-27

T HE W ORD IS FULFILLED 15 For these are not drunk, as you
suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is
what was spoken by the prophet Joel : 17 And it shall come to pass
in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on
all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young
men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.

T HE G OSPEL "I still have many things to say to you, but you
cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has
come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on
His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak ; and He
will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take
of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father
has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and
declare it to you. Jn 16: 12:15

The presence of God dwelling in us, and conversely our
participation in Him, is the sine qua non of newness of life in
Christ, and a characteristic mark of St. Cyrils thought. It is only
by means of Christ dwelling in us, through the Holy spirit and
through his own flesh, that we can be conformed to the image of the
Son and bear the fruit of the Spirit. Daniel Keating the theology
of St Cyril of Alexandria P166
