diversif ied from merely selling elec-trical products to becoming the brand owner of YETPlus. It was also appointed a distributor for the East Malaysia & Brunei regions in 2007, as well as Master Distributor of Havells Sylvania’s products in 2010, and an OEM Partner of Philips Malaysia Sendirian Berhad. This year, the company acquired a new warehouse in Rawang, and has expanded its reach to encompass a network of 40 Co-brand stores and 800 authorised dealers nationwide.

PRODUCTYiva’s product offerings focus on two categories of LED and Conventional down lights, Vertical and Horizontal. The expectation is that these lights will ultimately replace conventional fluorescent tubes, with the emphasis being placed on maximising lumen (brightness), without sacrificing the value of aesthetic design. Innovative products don’t have to be complicated; Yiva strives to provide products that are simple and make sense.

One of its signature products is the premium series LED Downlight, powered by Philips LED. Newly designed and launched packaging also improves the product’s visibility and provides more information for consumers. YETPlus has added to its product portfolio even further by offering outdoor garden lighting that includes bollards, wall lights, step lights, flood lamps, and a halogen spotlight series.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS Yiva recently entered a partnership agreement with Philips OEM increasing its product offerings to include YETPlus EcoBright and

Quadbright LED Downlights, powered by Philips LED. Supported by the acquisition of a new 60,000 sqft warehouse on two acres of land, strategic expansion plans that cater to new business segments, and the development of a three-storey office complex, await on the company’s horizon.

In the interim, a recent initiative included allocating a section of its shop for conversion to a mini showroom. This facility now offers an additional avenue for the company to focus attention on its customer centric services.

PROMOTIONYiva began participating in its first consumer exhibitions and roadshows in 2011 to expand awareness and increase its brand recognition. In the same year, it launched an Employee Relationship Team to focus on building a culture of team work within its workforce. This committee is responsible for organising monthly engagement activities that include everything from bowling competitions and movies, to birthday celebrations and getaways.

Customers are also being rewarded with the YET Membership Program which entitles members to cash rebates when they make purchases at branded stores, as well as complimentary invites

to events, exhibitions, and other benefits.

The company has also embraced social media and established a

presence on both Twitter and

Facebook where followers have the opportunity to win quarterly Smartphone prizes. Yiva’s newly designed website at www.yetplus.com provides another outlet for customers to gather information about the company’s expanding array of products and services.

With a strong belief in supporting corporate social responsibility activities, Yiva employees are actively participating in blood donation drives; charity dinners and pageants; and have volunteered to improve lighting for youth in orphanages, as well as the elderly living in care facilities.

BRAND VALUES Led by dedicated sales and factory quality control teams, Yiva has established itself as an industry leader in quality and gained the confidence of its customers by providing ‘the right’ lighting solutions. By continuing to develop innovative products and by instilling a service excellence mindset within the workforce, Yiva is well on its way to being recognised as a global brand and a MNC standard organization.
