Names and Title of GodNames and Title of God• 1. The names Father, Son, and Holy Spirit emphasize the

function of the Godhead as it is revealed to us in space and time. Matthew 28:19-20, Rom 5, 15, 1 Cor 12, Eph 1. the titles are all used. We are indwelt – Jn 14:23, 1 Cor 6:19, Col 1:27, Eph 4:6

• 2. At the baptism the Son obeys the father speaks blessing and the Spirit anoints.

• 3. The Father sends the Son, John 3, and the Son sends the Spirit, John 14-17.

• 4. The Holy Spirit is called God in Acts 5, 1 Cor 3, and Lord in 2 Cor 3:17.

• 5. Each person of the Godhead is described as being involved in the incarnation; Matt 18:28, Jn 3:34, Lk 1:35, 2:11, Jn 8, 10, 17.

• 6. The Father gives the Son, Rom 8:32, the Son offers himself, Jn 10:18, the Holy Spirit empowers Him, Heb 9.
