PARTICIPATION:Participation is very important in this class and in order for all of us to be successful andenjoy this class, all participation must be positive.

ASSIGNMENTS:Homework and classwork are to help students practice material and are 30% of yourgrade. Therefore, if you are absent often or truant and you dont make up your work, this will affect your grade and your learning. No late work will be accepted, so besure to complete assignments daily as not to affect your grade.

Test and quizzes will be given every Friday with few exceptions. This year you will beTesting Twice. We have found that students who take a test two times and compare theiranswers find many of their silly mistakes and improve their score by 10% on average. After receiving your test back you will be doing a Correct and Reflect. Students who notonly fix their mistake but reflect on it are less likely to make that mistake again. This is a

requirement for all students and will improve the test grade because a half point will beadded to the test score for every problem fixed and reflected on. If after the Correct andReflect you are unhappy with your score you may choose to retake the test. You mustmake arrangements with me to retake the test or quiz within one week of the scheduledday for that Correct and Reflect.

MAKE-UP WORK AND ABSENCES: You are responsible for getting and completing any work missed while absent. Youhave as many class days as you were absent from class to turn in the homework.

If you miss a test or a quiz, you must make arrangements with me to make up thetest or quiz within one week of the scheduled day for that test or quiz.

If you are truant, you will not be allowed to make up any work missed and willreceive zero points on any in-class assignments for the day.
