Fun on runners.It is the longest toboggan run in Europe: 15 km from top to bottom, with a

vertical drop of 1,631 m. Starting on the Faulhorn and winding all the way

down to Grindelwald, “Big Pintenfritz” is only one of more than 150 tobog-

gan runs throughout Switzerland. Some are short and gentle, others offer

the world has such a dense public transport network. Swiss Federal Railways

(SBB) and the other transport providers are constantly improving connections

to the holiday regions. Trains run at regular intervals: they always depart and

Our scenic routes.

The journey is the goal on the scenic

routes of the Swiss Travel System.

You wish the journey would last for-

ever, as you marvel at the changing

scenery from the comfort of your

seat. One moment you’re gliding

past the white expanse of a frozen

lake; the next, hurtling through a

tunnel to emerge into forest, before

crossing a high bridge over a wild

river, mountains towering on either

side. All of the following scenic routes

share one feature: each reveals the

changes as you travel from one re-

gion, one culture, to another, with

rich contrasts in landscape, colours

and climate.

Travel luggage-free. Send your bags ahead – the easy wayWhen you check in for your flight to

Switzerland, you can send your lug-

gage directly to the railway station at

your ski resort. This highly practical

scheme is called Fly Rail Baggage,

and works for all airlines from every

international airport in the world to

all larger railway stations. For your

homeward flight you can even check

your luggage in at the resort’s sta-

tion and collect your boarding card

(with your chosen seat number): your

bags then travel by train directly to

the aircraft. You can get the nec-

essary documents for Fly Rail Bag-

gage and checking-in from your local

Swiss Travel System sales point or

from larger Swiss stations.
