Page 175: #1 – #21 ALLPage 177: #29 – #32 ALL
Thurs, 1/30
Things you like: Explains the problems we don’t understand very well We always learn something new The golf group project We always work in partners We don’t get a lot of homework We review before a quiz or test You’re a funny teacher You actually make me learn – thank you.
Recommendations I am worried if will memorize anything I learned You should go slower when you explain the problems or
when we take notes More time reviewing for tests/quizzes We switch to a new topic right away / slow down a little Less homework I would change where I sit so I could get help from others We are not in groups – I would like to change groups
New Unit on Polygons & QuadrilateralsSWBAT…1. Know definitions of Geometry terms (exterior angle, remote interior
angle, polygon, polygon angle sum theorem, quadrilateral, parallelogram, consecutive angle, rhombus, rectangle, square, kite, trapezoid, legs, bases, base angles, isosceles trapezoid, coordinate proof)
2. Find measures of angles of triangles (3-5)3. Find the sum of the measure of the interior and exterior angles of a
polygon (6-1)4. Use relationships among sides, angles, and diagonals of parallelograms
(6-2)5. Determine whether a quadrilateral is a parallelogram (6-3)6. Define and classify special types of parallelograms (6-4)7. Determine whether a quadrilateral is a rhombus (6-5)8. Verify and use properties of trapezoids and kites (6-6)9. Prove a quadrilateral is a parallelogram, rhombus, rectangle, square, kite
or trapezoid (6-7 – 6-9)~4 week unit -Daily HW / Reading in textbook-Weekly quizzes -Unit test at the end -Two Performance Tasks
Notebook Organization
1. Write Geometry on the front cover
2. Write your name on the inside tab
3. Write Warm-Ups on the 1st divider
4. Write Notes on the 2nd divider
5. Write “Homework” on the 3rd divider
Everyday, on your desk you should have:
1. Notebook
2. Pencil
3. Calculator
Warm-Up: EXPLORE: Percentages
1. What is 50% of 80?
2. What is 100% of 80?
3. What is 130% of 80?
4. What is 60% of 135?
5. What is 20% of 135?
Unit Four: Triangle Sum

SWBAT… find the measures of angles of triangles using the Triangle Sum Theorem
Agenda 1. EXPLORE Warm-Up (10 min)2. Notes on triangle sum theorem (15 min)3. Work on HW (20 min)4. Exit slip (5 min)
Warm-Up:
1. 56 is 28% of what number?
2. 75 is 60% of what number?
3. 120 is 70% of what number?(round to nearest tenth)
HW: Read Pgs 353-355. Do Pg 356 #1 - #3
Fri, 1/31
The sum of the measures of the angles of a triangle is 180 degrees.
Triangle Sum Theorem
Example 1: Find the measure of the missing angle measurement.
Example 2: Find the value of x and find the missing angle measurements.
x = 11<A = 610
<B = 1070
<C = 120
An angle formed by a side and an extension of an adjacent side.
Page 173 for a better diagram
Exterior Angles
The measures of each exterior angle of a triangle equals the sum of the measures of its two remote interior angles.
Triangle Exterior Angle Theorem
Ex: <1 = 800, <2 = 180, what is the measure of <3?
<3 = 980
Ex: <1 = 590, <3 = 1240, what is the measure of <2?
<2 = 650
Summary
Be VERY specific! Sum of interior angles of a triangle = 180 Exterior angle = Sum of interior angles in
triangle

Exit Slip: ½ sheet – Collected1.) Find m1
2.) Find the value of the variable and the measures of the angles.
3.) Find the value of x, y, and z?
