Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre or Indian CulturalCentre as it is popularly known is the cultural wing of theEmbassy of India in Seoul promoting Indian culture in theRepublic of Korea. Fulfilling a long-held desire to provide aplatform to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and serveas the nodal point for cultural exchanges between India andRepublic of Korea, this Centre was established on 1st July2011. Since its inception, Centre has been providing regularclasses on Yoga, Indian classical and contemporary dances,musical instruments like Tabla, Harmonium and languagessuch as Hindi and Sanskrit. It also organises Special Lectures,Symposiums and Workshops on diverse aspects of Indianculture, politics and society by involving renowned Indianand Korean scholars and academia. Over the years, theCultural Centre has also built an extensive network ofpartnership with various cultural organisations, cityadministrations and provincial governments across thecountry intending to broaden the stakeholders and promotingIndian culture in Republic of Korea.

At this time, when the whole world is experiencing anunprecedented crisis because of the spread of COVID-19virus, and restrictions on social gatherings, the CulturalCentre has initiated online activities in its endeavour to keepin touch with the India lovers and Indian cultural enthusiastsin Republic of Korea.

Inauguration of Swami Vivekananda CulturalCentre Section at Institute of Indian Studies,Hankuk University of Feign Studies, LibraryJuly 1, 2021.

On the occasion of 10th Foundation Day ofthe Cultural Centre, Swami VivekanandaCultural Centre, Section was inauguratedat Institute of Indian Studies Library atHankuk University of Foreign Studies,Global Campus at Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do.Books & DVDs were donated by SVCC forresearchers and students at HankukUniversity of Foreign Studies.

Interaction Session with Korean Kathak Dancer Ms. Sukhee Oh- Author ofthe book ‘Indian Dance: Kathak’ was organized. She shared the Story ofKathak explaining compositions and also interacted with participantsduring the session.

Open House session on India wasconducted with Dongil Girls' CommercialHigh School on July 12, 2021. Studentswere introduced about India by an'Incredible India' documentary. Kathakand Yoga workshops along with a Quizon India were successfully conducted.
