of distress, new research has revealed.Only a third of female employees weregiven information about maternity ben-efits when they started their current job,said jobs site Glassdoor.

A survey of 1,000 working womenshowed two out of five said informa-tion was difficult to find, with 13 percent having to ask because nothing waspublished within the business.

More than two out of five were worriedtheir boss would think they were preg-nant if they asked for information, whileone in five feared they would be putting

themselves at risk of redundancy.Four out of five said asking for infor-

mation about maternity benefits during

a job interview would jeopardise theirchances of being hired, and most saidit was easier to ask about holidays, pen-sions or healthcare.

The poll of 500 women who had alreadytaken maternity leave, and 500 plan-ning to do so in the future, showed mostwould pass their probationary periodbefore asking their manager for infor-mation.

Jon Ingham, of Glassdoor, said: Thereare more than 13 million women in theworkplace and amongst these more thanfive million are working mums. These

women are an important part of UKbusinesses so it seems pretty short-sighted to keep maternity benefit details

under lock and key.A more honest and open attitude to-wards maternity benefits could improvethe quality of candidates looking towork at your organisation. It may not bean intentional decision for employersto keep this information from femaleemployees, however forcing them to askfor it is clearly causing a great deal ofdistress for many women in the work-place.

Transparency around benefits in theworkplace can actually build greatertrust.

We currently have a vacancy within our successful Telesales Team for a

full time Telesales executive, working 37.5 hours per week.

The RoleWorking towards an individual sales target you will be expected to be

resourceful and self motivated. Sourcing and canvassing new clients tointroduce to our portfolio and in-turn being proactive and creative in finding

solutions to their advertising and marketing needs. This will run in sync with

the ongoing management of existing, established clients, ensuring they are

receiving the best possible value from our product portfolio. You will also beexpected to share best practices and new ideas with your peers within the

Telesales team with a view to formation of new marketing solutions for our

clients.

The Person

As a Telesales Executive you will need to be self motivated and driventowards achieving revenue targets. Confidence in working under your own

initiative is essential, although there will be occasions that you are required

to work on team projects.

Time management is key to this role, along with being able to adhere to

rigid deadlines. Previous sales and/or customer service experience could beadvantageous, although this is not an essential requirement as a comprehensive

training programme is in place. A good telephone manner coupled with

ability to communicate clearly and concisely is fundamental to this role.

The Package
