The program is quite popular and students are able to recollect many maths concepts discussed in different episodes. This is a very good initiative and will go a long way in making maths appear less formidable. The program is trying to involve students in participating and in writing scripts.

Teacher Training Program
SVYM
• Education department officials are interested and supportive of the program
• All students are able to relate to the characters and understand the context of the programs
• In-service teachers themselves has several challenges in teaching – the lack of conceptual clarity among them is one of the most common challenges
• Contextualization to local events and humor attracts the students to the program
• Programs have also been attractive for elders with no background of mathematics
Learnings
SVYM
• The reach of the radio station is limited and can’t cover all the schools of the block
• In between the schedule of exams and the rush to complete the syllabus of other subjects, radio maths got 2nd priority in schools
• As we venture in algebra and geometry, the script writers are finding it challenging to deliver a concept in the duration and in the local language
Challenges
SVYM
• High acceptance and recall among the students of the Government schools – interest is also picking among the teachers and government officials
• Increased learning among the students
