SVN|CommunitiesSVN®ProgramGuidelines

ProgramDescriptionSVNInternationalCorp.inconjunctionwithPatronicityannouncestheSVN|Communitiesprogram,aplace-basedcrowdfundinggrantprogram.Donationandreward-basedcrowdfunding,orcrowdgranting,istheprocessofactivatingaprojectorideaofalargegroupofpeopleandtheirdollarsthroughaspon-sormatchwithinalimitedtimeframe.Crowdgrantingisaninnovativeyetsimplewayforcommunitiesandindividualstogeneratepublicinterestandraisedonationstomakelocalimprovements.Becauseitcombinesbothweb-based&off-linedonations,projectsareaccessibletoanyonewillingtomakeado-nation.Further,thistoolengagesthepublicensuringthatresidents,businessesandcommunityorgani-zationsplayapartinachievingcommunityimprovementsandinstillingcommunitypridewhentheybe-comeinvestedintheirsurroundings.SVN|CommunitiesaimstogeneratepublicinvolvementintheimplementationofcreativecommunityimprovementsbyincentivizingindividualdonationswithmatchingSVNfundswhentheprojectsfinan-cialgoalisreached.EligibleApplicantsTheSVN|Communitiesprogramisavailabletoresidents,communitygroupsandnon-profitorganza-tionswithcommunityimprovementprojectslocatedinto-be-determinedcitiesandregionsasan-nouncedbySVNInternationalCorp.andtheirlocalSVNregionaloffice.WhyApplytoTheSVN|CommunitiesProgram?

1. Applicantswillhavetheabilitytorequestupto$10,000inmatchinggrantfundsiftheyaresuccessfulinreachingtheircrowdfundinggoal.

2. ApplicantsapplyingfortheprogramwillreceivetechnicalassistancefromthePatronicityteamthatincludesprojectcreationassistanceandone-to-onecrowdfundingcoachingbe-foreandduringtheactualcrowdfundingcampaign.

3. ApplicantswillreceivemarketingandoutreachassistanceharnessingthechannelsofPat-ronicity,SVNInternationalCorp.andthelocalSVNregionaloffice.

TypesofActivitiesAllowedApplicationsmaybesubmittedforprojectactivitiesde-scribedbelow.Itisimportanttheseprojectshaveestab-lishedpublicawarenessandlocalenthusiasminthecommunity.Eligibleprojectsmayincludebutarenotlimitedto:

• Streetscapebeautification&walkability• Publicplazadevelopment/activation• PublicArt(sculptures,murals,lightinginstalla-

tions,etc)

• Accesstopublicamenities(riverwalks,canoelivery,pierenhancements)• Farmer’smarkets,communitykitchens,pop-upretail/incubatorspace(communityornon-

profit)• Coworkingormakerspaces• Alleyactivation&parklets• Parkimprovementsorenhancements• Bike&othernon-motorizedpathandrelatedinfrastructure• Bandshells&amphitheaters• Outdoormovieorotherentertainmentequipment(forrecurringseries)• Communitytheaterrehabilitation(communityornon-profit)• Publicwi-fiinaplacecompletelyopentothepublic• Placebranding(wayfinding,placesignage,gatewayentrancesetc.)• Eventimplementationincluding,recurringfestivals,farmersmarkets,weeklymovies,etc• Otherprojectsthatactivatepublicspaceoracommunityplace,decidedonacase-by-casebasis

atthediscretionofSVNInternationalCorp.andthelocalSVNregionaloffice.GrantDollarsEligibleprojectsmusthaveaminimumtotaldevelopmentcostof$5,000.Therecipientwillreceiveupto$10,000inmatchingfundsfromSVNInternationalCorp.withthepotentialforanadditionalpoolofmatchingfundsprovidedbythelocalSVNoffice.EvaluationCriteriaProjectsmusthavethefollowingcharacteristicstobeeligibleforfunding:

• Awell-definedandfocusedproject.• Projectlocation–projectsmustbelocatedinaregioneligibleforthisprogramaslistedabove.• SitecontrolintheformofalegallybindingagreementORwrittenapprovalfromtheproperty

ownerortheentitycontrollingthesiteIFapplicableforprojectsactivatingaspecificspace.• Identificationandscheduleforsecuringanyrequiredcitypermitsorapprovalsmayberequired

aswell.Projectswillbeevaluatedonavarietyoffactors,including,butnotlimitedto:

• Thelocationoftheproposedproject.• Theoverallimpactoftheprojectonthecommunityandotherplacemaking/brandingefforts.• TheabilityoftheprojecttobecompletedwithinoneyearofreceivingtheSVNmatchinggrant

dollars.• Abilityoftheprojectcreatortoeffectivelyimplementtheproposedproject.• Partnershipsestablishedwithlocalresidents,businessesoradjacentneighborhoodgroups.

OtherProgramRequirements

• Projectsmusthitcrowdfundingtargetbytheircrowdgrantingdeadline.Projectswillhavebe-tween30-60daystorunacrowdfundingcampaign.

• PatronicityandthelocalSVNofficewillprovidecrowdfundingsupporttoapplicantprojectsthroughbothtechnicalandmarketingassistance.

• Anyonedonororentitycandonateamaximumof50%tothecrowdgrantingfundraiseformatchingfunds.

• Projectswithmultiplefundingsourcesorabudgetlargerthanthefundsanticipatedfromthisprogrammustdemonstratethattheywillbeabletobegintheprojectinatimelymanner.

• Grantdisbursementswillbemadeafterthecrowdfundinggoalismet.• GrantswillonlybemadetoanapplicantdeemedeligiblebytheSVN.• ProjectcompletionmustoccurwithinoneyearofreceivingSVNgrantdollarsoncethecrowd-

fudinggoalismet.• TheapplicantcovenantsthatitwillnotuseSVNfundsinawaytodiscriminateagainstpersonon

thebasis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, ancestry, creed, preg-nancy,marital,parentalstatus,familialstatus,sexualorientation,statusasaveteran,physical,mental,emotionalorlearningdisability,oranyothercharacteristicprotectedbyfederal,state,orlocallaw(“ProtectedCharacteristics”).Furthermore,theapplicablecertifiescompliancewithapplicable federal laws, regulations, and executive orders prohibiting discrimination based ontheProtectedCharacteristicsintheprovisionofservices.

ProjectProcessFlow•STEP1-ApplicationProcess:TellUsAboutYourProjectAfterthelocalannouncementofthe“CallforProjects”interestedpartieswillcreateaprojectpageontheSVN|Communitiesprogrampagetosignifyinterestinparticipatingintheprogram.ApplicantswillutilizethePatronicitywebsitetobuildoutabasiccrowdfundingpagefortheirproject.Thispageistheinitialapplicationandisdirected/focusedtotheprojectaudienceandpotentialdonors.Onceaprojectpageisstarted,Patronicitywillreachouttotheprojectapplicanttodiscusstheprojectandnextsteps.•STEP2-PatronicityReviewPatronicitywillperformaninitialscreeningoftheprojectandprofile.Patronicitystaffmayrequestaddi-tionalinformationtodeterminetheproject’sappropriatenessforcrowdfundinganditseligibilitytotheProgram.•STEP3-SVN®ReviewAttheendofthe“callforprojects”phase,qualifyingprojectswillbeforwardedtotheSVNreviewteamforreviewandadeterminationofwhichprojectsmaybeeligibletorunacrowdfundingcampaigntoqualifyforamatchinggrant.•STEP4-PatronicityPolish&PossibleVideoProductionIfapprovedbytheSVNreviewteam,Patronicitywillthenengagefullywiththeapplicanttopolishofftheprojectpage,developamarketingstrategy,andbuildoutthecrowdfundingcampaign.AvideoshootmaybecoordinatedandplannedthroughthelocalSVNofficetoincreasevisibility.•STEP5-ProjectGoesLive!

Startcrowdfunding!Patronicitywillprovidetechnicalassistancethroughouttheraiseperiod.Theappli-canthasupto60daystoachievecrowdfundingtowardtheirgoal.Thistimelineisestablishedonapro-jectbasispriortocrowdfundinglaunch.A30daycampaignisrecommended.•STEP6-ImplementationIfthecrowdfundingcampaignissuccessful,SVNInternationalCorp.willmatchthefundsraisedandim-plementationwillfollowsoonafter.Questions?PleasereachouttoJonathanBerkofPatronicityatJonathan@Patronicity.com.
