BLACKBERRY FESTIVAL MISSION STATEMENT “A Berry Good Time for a Berry Good Cause” Planting seeds of hope in the vines of youth. Recognizing the importance of higher education, the Sutherlin BlackBerry Festival raises money each year to provide continuing education scholarships to graduates of Sutherlin and Oakland High Schools, (OSD 130 and OSD 1, respectively) to help them in their quest to achieve a college education. The building of a community is high on our list. We give back to the community in many ways.

Community Groups come together and volunteer each year to create the Blackberry Festival and 2015 was another outstanding event! The kick off Evening in Dakota St. Parking lot was filled with classic cars, dancing to 50’s Music and a good ol’ time.

Special events, cruises and family fun continued throughout the weekend and even featured a Doggie Blackberry Pie Eating Contest on Sunday! Thank you Baker, Owner Jerry Thomas of Good Dog Bones for providing the treats!

AUGUST CHAMBER BREAKFAST Thank you Nancy Murphy for hosting our August Members Breakfast at your bright and delicious Sutherlin Subway store! We consistently have great turnouts at these events. Please join us each the 2nd Wednesday of each month at rotating locations! See Events Calendar at visitsutherlin.com for upcoming locations.
