I. INTRODUCTION Situated just 13 kms from Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station and KSRTC Bus
Station, in a picturesque landscape of over 30 acres , the SUT Academy of Medical
Sciences has been designed with state of the art facilities and more importantly with a
reputed faculty comprising of well experienced and renowned medical teachers. The aim of
SUT Academy of Medical Sciences started in the academic year 2006 - 2007 is to mold a
new generation of doctors committed to ethics , empathy , excellence and compassion. The
College is founded on the principle that patient well - being is the primary and ultimate
concern for all those engaged in medical practice, teaching or research.
OBJECTIVES
a) This prospectus contains the rules and regulations applicable for selection and admission inseats (otherthan 15% NRI seats ) to MBBS Course in SUT Academy of Medical Sciences,Thiruvananthapuram for the academic year, 2016-2017.
b) The conditions in this prospectus and number of seats under this procedure are
subject to addition / deletion / modification as may be deemed necessary and also subject to orders of competent authority / Court of Law or consensus with the Government.
The objective of the Trust in establishing this Medical College in
Thiruvananthapuram is :
1. To provide Medical education to aspiring and deserving students in
Thiruvananthapuram District.
2. To establish a tertiary care super specialty hospital in Thiruvananthapuram with all
modern facilities
3. To provide quality Medical Care at Affordable Cost to the public of
Thiruvananthapuram and surrounding districts.
4. To provide Training & Development of High Calibre Healthcare Professionals
5. Overall development of the region.
6. To provide financial assistance to the poor and deserving in the matter of health and
education.

SUT ACADEMY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES College is envisioned to become the topmost
Medical College in South India within a decade with state of the art infrastructure and
excellent faculty in a serene campus adjacent to the city limit of
NedumangaduMunicipality to attract people from all over South India.
MISSION
The Medical College & Hospital to achieve the objects of the Trust renders Medical
education to deserving students at concessional rates and free treatment to poor patients
irrespective of caste and creed. The Institution also conducts free medical camps involving
specialist doctors in various branches for the benefit of poor and needy and provides free
treatments to patients.
SCOPEOF THIS PROSPECTUS
This prospectus contains the rules and regulations applicable for selection and admission
to 35 seats under Management Quota for MBBS Course in SUT Medical
College,Thiruvananthapuramin the academic year, 2016-2017.Admission pursuant to this
prospectus is subject to addition/ deletion/ modification as may be deemed necessary as
per directions from the Medical Council of India, Government of Kerala, any competent
courts of law, the Admission Supervisory Committee and Fee Regulatory Committee for
Professional Colleges of Kerala or any other competent authority concerned.

II. CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
a. Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India. b. Qualification :
(i) Candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics , Chemistry , Biology and
English individuallyand must have obtained a minimum of 80 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Examination, (PLUS TWO LEVEL OF EXAMINATION)
No relaxation in Marks to SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Note 1. Rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is not permitted. Note 2. Candidate who has passed his/her qualifying examination other than from Kerala Higher Secondary Board, the CBSE or the ISCE shall produce equivalency / Eligibility certificate obtained from the Kerala University of HealthSciences.
(ii) Candidate must have secured 50 percentile marks at NEET EXAMINATION 2016. SC/ST/OBC Candidate should secure a minimum of 40 percentile marks in the said
examination.
(iii) Age: Shall complete the age of seventeen years on or before 31st December 2016. (iv) Admission of NRI students will be on the basis of conditions stipulated in GO
(MS)No.34/2013/H&FWD dated 05.02.2013 and further orders in this regard.
III. HOW TO APPLY
The prospectus and application form are available for download in the official website of SUT
Academy of Medical Sciences “www.sutams.org”. The downloaded application duly filled up and
signed together with self attested copies of the following documents and DD for Rs. 1500/-
(Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only) towards application fee drawn in favor of
Principal, SUT Academy of Medical Sciences, payable at Thiruvananthapuram shall be
submitted to the following address so as to reach the same to the addressee before
3.00 pm on 31.08.2016. “THE PRINCIPAL, SUT ACADEMY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, VENCODE P.O,
VATTAPPARA, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - 695028”.
a. SSLC / X Standard certificate.
b. Proof of date birth (if date of birth is not furnished in SSLC / X standard certificate).
c. Plus Two or equivalent certificate.
d. Mark list of qualifying examination (Plus Two or equivalent).
e. Admit card of NEET examination 2016.
f. Mark list of NEET examination.
g. Certificate from Tahsildar / Village Officer in case the candidate requires relaxation in
marks at the Entrance Examination as per rules in force.
IMPORTANT
1. Application not accompanied by document (s) in proof of claim (s) made therein will be
summarily rejected without further intimation. Documents / Certificates furnished after
submission of the application will not be entertained under any circumstances.
No opportunity will be given to incorporate any details or document after the submission of
the application.
2. Late and Incomplete applications will be rejected. The College will not be responsible for

PROCEDURE OF SELECTION
a. Preparation of Merit list and Allotment for admission.
Subject to any orders that may be passed by the competent Courts, admission will be
only on the basis of inter-se merit determined NEET EXAMINATION RANK.
Note: (i) Candidate, who has passed the qualifying examination of any State
other than Kerala, will be treated at par with the candidate who has passed the Higher
Secondary Examination of Kerala State.
Note: (ii) Furnishing of false information/particulars would result in the forfeiture of the
candidature as well as cancellation of admission to the course, if admitted, and in
addition, will attract the relevant provisions of criminal law of the land.
b. Merit list of eligible candidates and allotment will be published on the website of the
college “ www.sutams.org ” and notice board of the college. The candidates are
advised to visit the website of the college for information in this regard. No intimation will
be issued to the candidates by post.
c. Ten seats are reserved for the children/depended of management / trustees based on
inter-se merit of such candidates.
d. Ten seats are reserved for the children/depended of the permanent staff of the institution
under the management Trust.
V. ADMISSION
a. The Management will have the right to deny admission to any applicant, if it is found that
the character and antecedent of the applicant are questionable on genuine grounds. In
such cases , the reasons for the same will be recorded and communicated to the
applicant concerned.
b. Candidates are advised to visit the website of the college “www.sutams.org” regularly for
announcements and instructions, and to appear for interview and verification of
documents and admission as notified therein. No separate communication will be sent to
candidates in this connection. No marks will be allotted at the interview. No T A or any
other allowance will be paid to attend the interview and verification of documents.
c. Allotted candidates shall take admission at the appointed time and date in the college
after paying the tuition fee and other fees to be paid for the first year and interest-free
refundable deposit and produce Bank Guarantee obtained from Nationalized Bank
agreeing to pay Rupees Ten Lakhs only per year on the first day of August of the year
concerned towards tuition fee for the subsequent four years (2017,2018,2019 & 2020 )
on demand from the Principal, SUT Academy of Medical Sciences,
Thiruvananthapuram in July of the year concerned failing which the offer of admission
will stand cancelled. No extension of time for payment of fees for the first year or interest-
free refundable deposit or for production of Bank Guarantee for the subsequent years will
be allowed under any circumstances.
d. All candidates (including the SC/ST/OBC candidates) will have to pay tuition fee and
other fees and produce Bank Guarantee.
VI. FEE TO BE PAID AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION

Bank Guarantee for the amount of Tuition fee for Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth years Apart
from the above, admission fee, caution deposit, proportionate share of fees payable to
University, Government fees, Medical Council of India fees, Transportation charges, Other
Statutory charges etc. and other expenses and such other permitted amounts shall be paid.
VII. REFUND / ADJUSTMENT OF FEES:
As per the MCI Regulations on Graduate Medical Education,1997 the entire exercise of
admission shall be completed by each college / institution as per the statutory time schedule
for admissions and in no case any admission will be made to the course after 30th of
September. Accordingly , all admissions for the academic year, 2016-2017 will have to be
closed on or before 30th September , 2016. If any student intends to discontinue the
studies, it will be necessary for such student to give notice in writing so as to reach the same
to the Principal at least by 25th September, 2016. If any student discontinues the studies
without giving a written notice sufficiently early as stipulated above and does not get
relieved before 25th September 2016, he/she will be liable to pay liquidated damages
equivalent to the tuition fee and other college fees for the entire duration of the course. In
such cases, all certificates will be issued only after payment of all dues as above.
VIII. CERTIFICATES /DOCUMENTS IN ORGINAL TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF
ADMISSION
a. SSLC/ X standard Certificate.
b. Proof of date of birth.
c. Plus Two or equivalent Certificate.
d. Mark list at the qualifying Examination (Plus Two or equivalent)
e. Transfer Certificate (T.C) from the institution last attended.
f. Admit card at NEET EXAMINATION, 2016.
g. Mark list at NEET EXAMINATION, 2016.
h. Certificate of good conduct and character from the institution last attended, preferably
issued within six months.
i. Certificate from Tahsildar / Village Officer, as the case may be, in case the candidate claims
relaxation in marks at the Entrance Examination as per rules in force.
j. Medical Fitness Certificate
k. Character & Conduct Certificate in compliance with Clause XII b of the Prospectus on
„Prohibition of Ragging‟
l. Equivalency / Eligibility Certificate of the qualifying examination obtained from Kerala
University of Health Sciences by candidates other than those who passed qualifying
examination of Kerala Higher Secondary Board, CBSE or ICSE.
m. Migration Certificate by candidates passed qualifying examination other than Kerala
Higher Secondary Board.
n. Bank Guarantee from a Nationalized Bank as mentioned in Clause V (c) agreeing to pay the
amount of the tuition fee to be paid for the second, third, fourth and fifth year of the course.
Also produce two photocopies of all the documents / certificates listed above attested by
a Gazette Officer / Head of the Institution where the student had studied and Ten Passport
size photographs of the candidate (one of them shall be laminated on the facing side.)
IX. REDRESSEL OF GRIEVANCE / COMPLAINT
Any grievance/complaint regarding selection and admission on the part of candidates shall be
made to the Principal within 24 hrs of the occurrence of the grievance.

XI. CODE OF CONDUCT
a. Every student shall adhere strictly to the code of conduct of the college. Those who
violate the code of conduct are liable for disciplinary action including expulsion from the
college.
b. Use of mobile phones in educational institutions is banned by the Government. As such
students are not permitted to use mobile phones in the college and hospital.
c. Every student shall observe and comply with the Dress Code prescribed by the College.
d. The College is fully residential and all students are to stay in the college hostel itself.
Exemption from this rule will be given to students whose parents are staying within 10kms of
the Institution
XII. PROHIBITION OF RAGGING
a. Ragging / any type of misconduct towards any student either in the college campus or
outside will be considered as criminal offence and will be immediately reported to the
Police. Perpetrators will not be permitted to continue their studies.
b. Every student shall at the time of admission furnish a character certificate from the
institute wherefrom he / she has passed the qualifying examination, mentioning the status
of behavioral pattern especially in terms as to whether he / she has displayed
persistent violence, or aggressive behavior or desire to harm others.
c. Student and parent (s) shall , at the time of admission , furnish an affidavit to the effect
that the student shall not indulge in ragging.
