Air Pollution (poor air quality)

Bike lanes (better accommodation for bikes in general)

Free public bikes (bright yellow bikes)

Campus bus (free)

Pay for parking (permits and/or meters)

Lightrail (free for students and University employers)

Mandatory air filters for factories and high pollution emitters

Town lake with mosquitos and

community against pesticides

Create research projects with University

students for the testing and using of

biopesticides

Use of mosquito’s predators

Natural pesticides and insect repellants

(citronella)

Once population of mosquitos is controlled,

create a more appealing recreation area

around lake (with citronella candles)

Attract students and university

personnel Create research projects that will involve the

community problems (mosquitos) + give scholarships to students that are involved in the community and campus life

Sustainable dorm/houses/living Student gardens food source

Cheaper meal plans for those who help with the garden (coupons)

Create campus jobs (part-time and under 21 students)

All of the other projects that create a better sustainable city should also attract students and personnel

Indoor Regulations 1. Paperless university – any paper that has to be in

use will be recycled

2. Motion censored lights, all LED light bulbs (prohibit the commercialization of inefficient light bulbs)

3. No plastic bottles - each student gets a reusable bottle at the start of the year

4. All items from distributers must be recyclable (various items you'd find in Walmart-like places)

5. No plastic bags available: citizens are given x amount of reusable grocery bags

Outdoor Regulations 1. Only native plants in landscaping (xeriscaping)

2. Lawn watering only permitted at dusk and dawn

3. Solar panels on University and other public property

4. Stop signs + roundabouts No traffic lights to reduce traffic congestion and electricity use

5. Only "green cars“ The city provides tax incentives for people to trade their old non-efficient cars to buy new green car.
