The Rialto Theater is turning 100 in May of 2020, which is a milestone to be celebrated. What was life like 100 years ago? Woodrow Wilson was the president, and the decade known as the Roaring Twenties was just getting started. Life in America was dramatically changing and for the first time more people lived in cities than on farms. With these economic changes came the need to entertain in an entirely new way. Across America, silent film houses like the Rialto Theater
were built to satiate people’s growing appetite for this new and innovative entertainment.
One hundred years later, the Rialto Theater continues to be a centerpiece for cultural offerings in Loveland. Technology has changed dramatically, as has our theater, but the goal of bringing people together to experience all of the highs and emotions that come from live entertainment is alive and well.
Over the coming months, we invite you to renew your relationship with the Rialto Theater. From amazing productions by our area rental partners and film offerings that range from independent cinema to annual film festivals, to the second year of our Rialto Presents series that spans multiple genres and styles, there is something for everyone. Capping it all off in May of 2020 will be a birthday party with events and celebrations worthy of 100 years in the Loveland community.
