The Fun Run will raise money for teacher grants and student scholarships. Those interested in supporting educa- tion are invited to participate in the run. The St. Lucie County Education Founda- tion will begin an in-school campaign in January to provide details to students in every grade. Top fundraisers and schools with the most participants will be recog- nized during the Safety Festival. Once the run is completed, students will then join the activities at the Safety Festival and enjoy the bounce houses, face painting and other activities. The SLC Safety Festival will be held at First Data Field in St. Lucie West on April 25. It is the Treasure Coast’s largest safe- ty event. The Safety Festival features multiple live demonstrations by local first responders, touch-a-trucks, free kid’s zone, static displays, vendors, giveaways and more. This year’s event features a bomb dis- posal demonstration, a Jaws of Life dem- onstration, a K-9 demonstration and a fire demonstration. The Safety Festival runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free admission and free park- ing. Attendees will be able to meet St. Lu- cie County Sheriff Ken Mascara; Fire Chief Nate Spera; PSL Police Chief John Bolduc; Ron Parrish, Public Safety Direc- tor; Clint Sperber, Health Officer; Wayne Gent, Superintendent of Public Schools and others. PORT SALERNO – The Port SalernoSeafood Festival, which began as aneighborhood fish fry and dock party, iscoming Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This will mark 14th edition of the fes-tival along the Port Salerno waterfrontand will include properties such as theTwisted Tuna, Pirate’s Cove Resort,Manatee Island Bar and Grill, the FishHouse Art Center, and Port Salerno Ma-rine.

Visitors can shop among hundredsof unique arts and craft and nauticalthemed vendors including local busi-nesses. There will also be a free chil-dren's zone with bounce houses and ac-tivities.

FORT PIERCE -- The Fort Pierce JobFair will be held Jan. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. at the Havert L. Fenn Center, locat-ed at 2000 Virginia Ave.

This event is presented in partner-ship by the City of Fort Pierce, Career-Source Research Coast (CSRC), and theSaint Lucie County Board Commission-ers. Several local and county dignitarieswill kick off the day during opening cer-emonies at 9:15 am.

Early entry for veterans as and Lin-coln Park Career Pathways Initiativegraduates will start at 9:30 a.m.. Begin-ning at 10 a.m., job seekers will be wel-comed to meet participating employers.This job fair is open to all residents ofthe local workforce development area.

Over 100 local employers with imme-diate job openings are scheduled to par-ticipate in the annual City of Fort PierceJob Fair, including area municipalities,private clubs, hospitality, healthcare,landscaping, manufacturing, and emer-gency response organizations.

FORT PIERCE — Jetson’s TV & Appli-ances in Fort Pierce will host its ninthannual Highwaymen Art Show on Sat-urday, Jan. 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This free community event is an op-portunity for people to meet several ofthe original Highwaymen, watch them

paint and purchase their artwork, aswell as view the private collection of Jet-son’s owner and avid art collector JohnJetson.

Attendees will have the opportunityto enter two free raffles to win Highway-men art including an original oil by RLLewis, and a Harold Newton print do-nated by art dealer and collector, RogerLightle.
