LIGHT PERFORMANCESX’TEN

Optical and heat management principlesof X’TEN.

Principle of micro lens technology.

Maximum illumination with minimum eye fatigue: the

overall efficiency of the optical system ensures a high level

of illumination across sites measuring 25 cm in diameter.

The dichroic mirrors and microlenses have been optimised

so that lighted surfaces are perfectly circular, uniform and

reproducible.

Uniform light distribution: the large number of individual

diverging light beams produces a homogeneous distribution

of light, within the light patch and the column of light (80 cm

of depth, 31’’).

True colour rendition: X’TEN has an adjusted colour

temperature of 3,500 K and a high colour rendering index

of 93. The result is perfectly rendered colours that are both

easy on and attractive to the eyes.

Highly efficient heat management system: the dichroic

coated filters eliminate 94% of infrared emissions. Indeed,

the light is projected onto the dichroic mirrors where the

infrared component is absorbed and dissipated by conduction

and convection. This light is easy on the eyes and the

temperature of exposed tissue is reduced less.

Microlenses and less shadows for a better view: X’TEN’s

cross-shaped lighthead is also an advantage since it can be

positioned to direct the light beams around the surgeon’s

head, avoiding potential shadows. The microlenses act as

individual sources of light and work together to provide

significantly enhanced illumination. The beams they emit

overlap each other continuously at such a rate that the

heads, shoulders and hands of surgical team members do

not cast shadows at the surgical sites.

X’TENCONTROLLED COMFORTMAQUET – THE GOLD STANDARD

Aerodynamically designed with a cross shape, slim profile and

small form factor, X’TEN is well-suited for use with laminar flow

systems. Particles in the operating area are swept away to

reduce the risk of contamination during surgical procedures.

Ergonomic handling: the ultralight cupola is made from materials

such as aluminium and fitted with side handles for extremely

smooth, effortless positioning. Easily accessible from anywhere

in the theatre, it can be positioned as needed during procedures.

The beam of light can just as easily be pointed in the necessary

direction using the sterile handle.

Quick maintenance: the top of the light is designed with a

quick-opening cover for quick and easy replacement of bulbs in

a matter of seconds and without any tools.

MINIMALLY INVASIVE VISIONX'TEN

Attentive to customer needs in the operating room and to

changes in the clinical environment, MAQUET offers a new

optional ambient light dedicated to minimally invasive surgery

thanks to the patented « LED inside » technology:

a ring of LEDs with low energy consumption which is

maintenance-free,

homogeneous distribution from direct and diverging light beams,

adjustable illumination levels depending on applications.

The soft illumination produced improves screen vision,

reduces eye fatigue and is ideal for:

preparation before and assistance during surgery,

patient monitoring,

minimally invasive surgery…

Combination X’TEN / AXCEL+with screen

In addition to being multimedia-ready, the SATELITE

MEDIA system expands the possibilities of operating

theatres and streamlines their layouts. Its modular design

allows users to add and remove equipment such as flat

screen monitors, surgical lights, cameras, ESUs and touch

screen monitors.

HANDS ON VIDEOX'TEN

The X’TEN cupola and its independent arm feature a wide

range of video possibilities that meet the medical imaging

requirements of today’s surgical techniques. Not only do

their fixed-focus or zoom-lens cameras allow surgical teams

to record procedures, synchronize tasks, and organise

operating schedules, they also open the door to video

conferencing and telemedicine. MAQUET has always been

a pioneer in making video a ubiquitous tool for viewing

surgical sites.

Hands on video: zoom or fixed-focus cameras fully-integrated inside thesterilizable handle and compatible with MAQUET telemedicine systems

Simplicity and ergonomics: controls are simple and legible:

touch panel for on/off and illumination adjustment, with bulb

replacement indicators.

Remote control and communication: ENERGIX is a genuine

communication platform. Its RS 232 port enables simple

connection to a computer or remote control systems.

Highest hygiene standards: all ENERGIX functions are

incorporated in a sealed, completely flat front-panel that

guarantees total compliance with the highest operating

room hygiene standards.

Simplified prevention and intervention: ENERGIX incorporates

intelligent software that records all operating parameters

and defaults, schedules replacement of consumable

items, indicates the need for maintenance inspection

and provides other functions which support preventive

maintenance.

All information is displayed on an LCD screen on the

front-panel of the unit.

Preventive maintenance aids:

programming of maintenance inspection,

memorization of operating parameters,

hours of use meter reading: planning of consumable

replacements,

programming of back-up tests,

battery status control.

Rapid intervention aid:

self-diagnosis function,

direct reading of parameters such as voltage, current

and temperature,

traceability management (serial number, software version,

production and in service dates).
