“Young man is an orphan; brother's place is too small. Legal guardian wants no more to do with him.”
“At the Yarmouth SRLC we have roughly 8 individuals a month coming in speaking about homeless situations.”
“It is not unusual to have some of the youth we deal with in Restorative Justice that have no real address. This is not to say that they live on the street - they do a lot of "couch surfing". One week at one place and then another week at an aunt's place, then a few days at a friends house and so on.”
“Single father called the TCWC about his teenage daughter. She can’t live at home. DCS was able to help with room & board at a hotel. Not in a supportive environment and she quit school.”
“Teenage girls disclose to TCWC staff they had no place to live, forced to prostitute to have a roof over their heads, and some are now dealing with drug addictions.
