Più leggera, più potente, più cattiva, più rumorosa, con un assetto più aggressivo, spinta dall’inconfondibile 1200cc bicilindrico Indian. Si chia-ma Envy (letteralmente “Invidia”) ed è il primo progetto firmato BUILT, una giovane realtà di Poole, nel Regno Unito. La base per questo progetto è una Indian Scout Bobber 2020, ritirata dal concessionario e portata direttamente in officina per essere completamente trasformata.

Una vera moto da bad boy (o bad girl), nata dalla creatività di Max e dalle capacità di Callum, due amici che pian piano stanno trasformando la loro passione per la motor cul-ture in un lavoro a tempo pieno.Questa special è il biglietto d’ingresso di questi due giovani nel panorama internazionale della scena custom.

Basta uno sguardo per capire che la Envy non è una moto tranquilla: il nuovo impianto di scarico realiz-zato su misura composto da sin-gole sezioni in acciaio inossidabile saldate a mano da Atomic Welding, sembra un serpente che si snoda dai collettori per abbracciare il po-deroso motore 2 cilindri a V da 1133cc fino a passare sotto la sella monoposto: uno spettacolo per gli occhi e un concerto per le orecchie.

Tutti gli elementi che prima erano collocati sotto la sella sono sta-ti riposizionati in una scatola nera che si può intravedere nella parte bassa della moto, davanti alla ruota posteriore: batteria, centralina, fusibi-li: tutto ciò che ha a che vedere con l’impianto elettrico è nascosto lì.

Le altre due modifiche che si nota-no a colpo d’occhio sono gli enormi pneumatici Firestone montati su cer-chi originali Indian e la catena che

sostituisce l’originale impian-to a cinghia. Gli pneumatici assieme al nuovo ammor-tizzatore posteriore K-Tech Razr garantiscono un as-setto più sportivo e reat-tivo alla moto, più stabile in ogni condizione. L’altezza da terra è stata aumentata di quasi 4 centimetri per rendere la Bobber più agi-le e consentire al pilota di piegare un po’ più del nor-male. I comandi a pedale, di serie avanzati, sono stati sostituiti da pedane e leve Krazy Horse e riposizionati al centro, sempre per inse-guire il concetto di sportività.Altre modifiche che compren-dono un nuovo impianto di aspirazione, una centralina rimappata con Power Vision della DynoJet, completano

il pacchetto che rende questa Scout Bobber molto più lontana dall’originale di quanto si possa immaginare. La Envy riprende il concetto di café racer e trasforma il concetto di bobber, una moto da passeggio, pesante e non particolarmente agile, in una moto unica nel suo genere: lo stile rimanda alla filosofia custom ma le pre-stazioni sono al passo con i numeri dei giorni nostri.

Completano il look “grezzo” in completo stile industriale, il serbatoio originale verniciato di verde khaki con ac-centi di nero lucido e nero satinato, e l’enorme scritta Indian: questa combinazione di colori è così azzeccata che la Indian potrebbe inserirla in catalogo. Il manu-brio con frecce LED bar-end e comandi Motogadget resta semplice, elegante e funzionale; la strumentazione originale completa egregiamente il set-up minimal. Per quanto riguarda l’illuminazione il faro anteriore full-LED, tondo, classico e perfetto per questa special è firmato Tank Machine, mentre la luce posteriore a LED che si nota solo quando accesa è della Kellermann. L’ultima chicca voluta da Max e Callum è la M-Unit Motoga-dget, un sistema che rende la Bobber keyless: senza

bisogno di chiavi la moto si può gestire completa-mente da un’app dedica-ta che monitora le per-formance e garantisce la massima sicurezza grazie a un sistema di allarme estremamente efficace.

Che moto! Muscoli e po-tenza senza sfociare in uno stile volgare e ba-nale! Il primo progetto di BUILT è il coronamento di un sogno di due ragazzi che hanno voluto mostra-re al mondo cosa sono in grado di fare e quanto si possa osare nel mondo delle special: il segreto è sprigionare senza barrie-re la propria creatività.

Envy, progetto #0001 del duo inglese, vuole esse-re il primo di una lunga serie e se Max e Callum ci hanno stupito con un lavoro del genere come prima customizzazione non vediamo l’ora di sco-prire dove riusciranno ad arrivare, good luck from Super Special, cheers!_

Lighter, more powerful, shabby, louder, with a more aggressive set-up, powered by the unmista-kable 1200cc Indian twin. It’s called Envy (literal-ly “Envy”) and it’s the first project by BUILT, a young company from

Poole, UK. The basis for this project is a 2020 Indian Scout Bobber, collected by the dealer and brought directly to the work-shop to be completely transformed.

A real bad boy (or bad girl) bike, born out of the creativity of Max and the skills of Callum, two friends who are slowly tran-sforming their passion for mo-tor culture into a full-time job.This special is the entrance ti-cket of these two young pe-ople to the international sta-ge of the custom scene.

One glance is enough to un-derstand that the Envy is not a quiet bike: the new custom-made exhaust system, made up of indi-vidual stainless steel sections wel-ded by hand by Atomic Welding, looks like a snake that winds from the manifolds to embrace the cylinders of the mighty 1133cc V2 engine, passing under the sin-gle-seater saddle: a feast for the eyes and a concert for the ears.

All the elements that were pre-viously placed under the saddle have been repositioned in a black box that can be seen in the lower part of the bike, in front of the rear wheel: battery, control unit, fuses: everything to do with the electrical system it is hidden there.

The other two changes that stand out at a glance are the huge Firestone tyres mounted on ori-ginal Indian rims and the chain that replaces the original belt sy-stem. The tyres, together with the new K-Tech Razr rear shock ab-sorber, guarantee a sportier and more responsive set-up to the bike, more stable in all condi-

tions. Ground clearance has been increased by almost 4 centimetres to make the Bobber more agile and al-low the rider to lean a little more than normal. The stan-dard advanced pedal con-trols have been replaced by Krazy Horse footpegs and levers and repositioned in the center, again to pursue the concept of sportiness.Other changes include a new intake system, a re-mapped control unit with DynoJet Power Vision, com-plete the package that ma-kes this Scout Bobber much further from the original than you can imagine. The Envy takes up the concept of café racer and transforms the concept of bobber, a heavy and not particularly agile ambling bike, into a one-of-a-kind bike: the sty-le refers to the custom philosophy but the perfor-mance is well up to date.

Completing the “raw” look in complete industrial style, the original tank is painted in khaki green with accents of glossy black and satin black, with huge Indian let-tering: this colour combina-tion is so apt that the In-dian could include it in the catalogue. The handlebars, with bar-end LED indicators and Motogadget controls re-main simple, elegant and functional; the original in-strumentation perfectly com-pletes the minimal set-up.

As for the lighting, the full-LED, round, clas-sic and perfect headli-ght for this special is by Tank Machine, whi-le the LED rear light that is only noticeable when switched on is from Kellermann. The latest gem desired by Max and Callum is the M-Unit Motogadget, a system that makes the Bobber keyless. Without the need for keys, the bike can be completely managed by a dedica-ted app that monitors performance and gua-rantees maximum safety thanks to an extremely effective alarm system.

What a bike! Muscles and power without le-ading to a vulgar and banal style! The first BUILT project is the culmination of a dream of two guys who wan-ted to show the world what they are able to do and how much they can dare in the world of specials: the secret is to unleash their cre-ativity without barriers.

Envy, project # 0001 by the English duo, aims to be the first of a long series and if Max and Callum surpri-sed us with a job like this as their first custo-misation, we can’t wait to find out where they will go, good luck from SuperSpecial, cheers!_

La Bad Girl della porta accanto è una giovane donna friu-lana dallo spirito avventuriero, aperta alle mille possibilità che la vita le ha disegna-to attorno. Attrice e Sommelier, questo è nel suo mondo lavorativo. Sempre in sella, che sia una moto o un cavallo, percorre il suo tempo libero con intraprendenza e curiosità. Attrice, cantante blues e motociclista. Dove ti senti più a casa?

Ho sempre avvertito che il mio destino era spaziare il più possibile tra le varie possibili-tà che la vita offre.. e non mancano mai di presentarsi nuove attrattive su cui sperimen-tare la mia curiosità. Non ho, per intenderci, il problema di uscire “dalla comfort zone”. Mai avuta una comfort zone. Detto questo, alcune delle mie passioni sono diventate un lavoro, come l’attrice e il sommelier, mentre altre, come la moto e la musica, sono una valvola di sfogo e al contem-po qualcosa che riporta a casa l’animo.

Ragazza della porta accanto oppure Bad Girl?

La bad girl della porta accanto! Da un lato c’è la Debby (Ska, per gli amici) che ama studiare, leggere, è dedita al lavoro, agli amici, è protettiva, sorridente e puntuale. Un altro lato di me viene dalle molte avventure e disavventure della mia vita. Se pur gio-vane, ne ha viste di tutti i colori. Quel lato non si ferma mai, è sempre in sella… su un aereo, una moto, un cavallo… si sente a casa in ogni luogo del mondo, ha la pelle più spessa per proteggere l’altra parte di sé, e non teme nulla… perché ha imparato a danzare sotto la pioggia. Ogni cosa che mi ha ferita mi ha donato sicurezza ed

indipendenza. Io oggi, sono la mia casa.Cito il conterraneo Pasolini: “la mia indi-pendenza, che è la mia forza, implica la mia solitudine, che è la mia debolezza”.

Quando è nata la tua passione per le due ruote?

Mio nonno era un guzzista, non ha mai avuto un’auto. Solo Moto Guzzi. A 18 anni mia madre mi venne a prendere alla sta-zione, e mi disse “devi prendere la paten-te” – ed io: “io voglio guidare solo moto, come il nonno” - “non hai una moto e non puoi permettertela, ma hai la mia vecchia auto, se vuoi. Altrimenti da domani ti muo-vi in autobus”. Per fortuna mi convinse a prendere la patente dell’auto. Senza, non saprei che avrei fatto. La moto l’ho potuta comprare a 25 anni. Una Honda Hornet.

Ti va di parlarci di Wine and Gasoline?

L’hashtag #wineandgasoline nasce un anno fa da un’idea del mio amico Enea Ma-riani- presidente del Naonian scooter club di Pordenone, nonché uno dei primi pre-miati custom styilist di vespe e lambrette della zona del triveneto. L’idea, unisce la nostra passione per i motori e il vino, partendo da una sede-officina di mezzi d’epoca con mescita di vini di qualità.

Che genere di motocicletta ami di più ?

Sono una fan delle stradali-sportive, ci sono salita e ho fatto fatica ad indossare altro. Ma guido ogni cosa. Adoro le gomme tasselate, lo stile retrò delle cafe racer, e come non pensare con affetto alle custom degli amici che mi hanno adottata nei loro giri quando ero adolescente tra raduni e gruppi motociclistici della pedemontana por-denonese… ma anche le vespe e lambret-te! I raduni più allegri li ho fatti con loro (Conegliano, Gatti Randagi di TS e Insetti Viandanti). La moto e gli scooter storici sono uniti quando si parla di spirito motociclistico.

Qual‘è l‘esperienza lavorativa per la quale sei più orgogliosa?

Ho girato tanti spot per brand importanti, negli ultimi anni. Tra cui quello con Ste-fano Accorsi, per Peugeot 208 (interpreto una valet car appassionata, che gli ruba l’auto); Nescafè con la casa di produzione di Ridley Scott, in cui guidavo la vespa per tutta Roma. Poi sono entrata nel cast di UPAS (un posto al sole) ed ora sto girando dei film, in uscita, ma in ritardo a causa del covid. Come sommelier con-duco “pillole di vino” con gruppo Meregalli, in cui spiego le basi della degustazio-ne, conservazione, e servizio del vino.

Cosa ti diverte di più essere fotografa-ta o fotografare?

La mia esperienza sul set ed i miei studi in art direction mi hanno for-nito un certo sguardo creativo, che mi torna molto utile nella creazione di contenuti miei, e diventa trainan-te rispetto al mio lavoro, che però resta dall’altra parte dell’obiettivo.

Quanto tempo passi in motocicletta?

Mai abbastanza. Sono limitata dal me-teo e dal lavoro. Mi alleno al circuito di Rjieka dove ho passato quasi tutto il tempo libero quest’estate. Ogni vol-ta che ho bisogno di stare da sola, o di scappare dalla routine, faccio un giro in moto. A volte sto via ore, a volte giorni, a volte settimane. Ma par-to con quello che ho addosso ed al massimo monto un ragno o una borsa magnetica da serbatoio. Mi piace es-sere libera in moto, non posso partire oppressa da quello che mi potrebbe servire. La moto è agilità e libertà.

Trovi delle similitudini tra tutte le tue passioni?

Non scelgo ciò che mi appassiona. Ad ognuno è dato dall’istinto fare ciò che ci fa sentire vivi ed in armonia con noi stessi.

Hai degli obiettivi non ancora raggiunti, ti va di svelarceli?

Sto lavorando su progetti tv e cine-ma, di cui qualcuno ha ad ogget-to moto, vino o entrambe le cose.

Sei una donna dinamica, sempre con l‘adrenalina a mille, ma quando ti fermi cosa ti piace fare?

Amo stare a tavola, mangiare cibo

e bere vini locali. In vacanza cer-co spiaggie bianche e mari inconta-minati, per leggere, nuotare, meditare. Ma su tutto amo ridere e… dormire.

Da Sommelier, a quale vino assoceresti la tua personalità?

Châteauneuf du Pape, i cui vini pos-sono contemplare 13 vitigni autoc-toni sia a bacca bianca che nera.Ha un animo sia maschi-le che femminile. Un vino che na-sce con una promessa di longevità.

Actress, blues singer and biker. Whe-re do you feel most at home?

I have always felt that my destiny was to wander as much as possible between the various possibilities that life offers.. and never fail to present new attractions on which to experience my curiosity. To be clear, I don’t have the problem of leaving the “comfort zone”. Never had a comfort zone. Ha-ving said that, some of my passions have become a job, like the actress and the sommelier, while others, like motorcycles and music, are an out-let and at the same time something that brings the soul back home.

Girl Next Door or Bad Girl?

The bad girl next door! On the one hand, there is Debby (Ska, to friends) who loves to study, read, is dedicated to work, friends, is protective, smiling and punctual. Another side of me comes from the many adventures and misadventures of my life. Although young, she has seen all the colours. That side never stops, she is always in the saddle ... on a plane, a motorcycle, a horse ... she feels at home anywhere in the world, has the thickest skin to protect the other part of herself, and is not afraid of anything … Becau-se she learned to dance in the rain. Everything that has hurt me has given me security and independence. Today, I am my home.I quote the compatriot Pasolini: “my independence, whi-ch is my strength, implies my loneliness, which is my weakness”.

When was your passion for two wheels born?

My grandfather was a Guzzi rider, he never had a car. Moto Guzzi only. At 18 my mother picked me up at the station, and told me “you have to get your license” - and I said: “I only want to ride motorcycles, like my grandfather” - “you don’t have a motorcycle and you can’t af-ford it, but you have my old car if you want. Otherwise, from tomor-row you’ll be on the bus ”. Luckily she convinced me to take a car license. Without it, I don’t know what I would have done. I was able

to buy the bike at the age of 25. A Honda Hornet.

Would you like to talk to us about Wine and Gasoli-ne?

The hashtag #wineandgasoline was born a year ago out of an idea of my friend Enea Mariani - president of the Naonian scooter club in Pordeno-ne, as well as one of the first awarded custom stylists of Vespas and Lambrettas in the Triveneto area. The idea combines our passion for engines and wine, starting from a vintage vehicle head-quarters-workshop with a glasses of quality wines.

What kind of motorcycle do you love the most?

I am a fan of road sports, I got it and I struggled with anything else. But I ride everything. I love the knobby tires, the retro style of the cafe racers, and how could I not think fondly of the custom bikes of the friends who adopted me in their rides when I was a teenager between rallies and motorcycle groups in the Pordenone foothills ... but also the Vespas and Lambrettas! I made the most cheerful gatherin-gs with them (Conegliano, Cats Randagi of TS and Insetti Viandanti). Historic motorcycles and scooters are united when it comes to the motorcycling spirit.

What is the work experience you are most proud of?

I have shot many commercials for important brands in recent years. Including the one with Stefano Ac-corsi, for Peugeot 208 (I play a passionate car va-let, who steals his car); Nescafè with Ridley Scott’s production house, where I rode the Vespa all over Rome. Then I joined the cast of UPAS (a place in the sun) and now I’m making films, coming out, but delayed due to the covid. As a sommelier I lead “wine pills” with the Meregalli group, in which I explain the basics of wine tasting, conservation, and service.

What do you enjoy most being photographed or photographing?

My experience on the set and my studies in art

direction have provided me with a certain creative gaze, which is very useful for me in creating my own content, and becomes a driving force with respect to my work, which however remains on the other side of the goal.

How much time do you spend on a motorcycle?

Never enough. I’m limited by the weather and work. I train at the Rjieka circuit where I spent most of my free time this summer. Whenever I need to be alone, or to escape the routine, I take a motorcycle ride. So-metimes I’m gone for hours, sometimes days, sometimes weeks. But I start with what I have on and at most I mount a tripod or a magnetic tank bag. I like to be free on my motorbike, I can’t start by being oppressed by what I might need. The bike is agility and freedom.

Do you find similarities between all your passions?

I don’t choose what I’m passionate about. Everyone has instinct to do what makes us feel alive and in harmony with ourselves.

Do you have goals not yet achieved, would you like to reve-al them to us?

I’m working on TV and cinema projects, some of which are about motorcycles, wine or both.

You’re a dynamic woman, always with a thousand adrenali-ne, but when you stop what do you like to do?

I love to sit at the table, eat food and drink local wines. On vacation I look for white beaches and pristine seas, to read, swim, meditate. But above all I love to laugh and… sleep.

As a Sommelier, which wine would you associate your per-sonality with?

Châteauneuf du Pape, whose wines can include 13 native grape varieties both white and black. It has both a mascu-line and a feminine soul. A wine that is born with a pro-mise of longevity. Complex, elegant, refined and powerful._

L’azienda costruttrice di moto elettri-che Zero Motorcycles ha deciso di lasciare nelle mani di uno dei mi-gliori customizers di moto al mondo, braccio e mente di Deus ex Machi-na USA, Michael ‘Woolie’ Woolaway, una Zero SR/S, sicuri che avreb-be plasmato una vera opera d’arte.Coppia da urlo, guida da super-sportiva, la Zero è silenziosa come la parte più nascosta del vento ma furiosa come il peggiore degli ura-gani, e questo Woolie lo sapeva.Il loro primo incontro si è svolto sul ring della Pikes Peak. Erano ognuno al proprio angolo, uno di fronte all’altro. Il capo del design di Deus era lì con la sua belva realizzata su base Ducati, i ra-gazzi di Zero con la loro SR/S.

Gli occhi di Woolie seguivano le li-nee della E-bike mentre pensava che quel telaio a tralicci lo affascinava e che forse quella moto sarebbe stata una base perfetta per creare qual-cosa di spettacolare. I suoi pensieri diventarono ben presto realtà. Infatti dopo alcune settimane l’azienda co-struttrice di missili a zero emissioni consegnò una Zero SR/S nuova di

zecca nella sede di Deus a Venice Beach - the Empo-rium of Postmodern Activities.Le aspettative dell’azienda dall’animo green erano altissi-me ma Woolie ha spiazzato tutti con la sua creazione. Il progetto era ben chiaro den-tro la sua testa sin dall’inizio, voleva realizzare una moto che apparisse carica di anni e storia come un vero pezzo retrò, ma con componenti in-novativi e futuristici ed un cuo-re ..a Zero battiti al minuto..Invece che utilizzare i ren-dering 3D e l’alluminio come al suo solito, ha deciso di modellare a mano una boz-za di tutta la carenatura con la schiuma e successivamen-te ha commissionato a Paul Taylor, owner dell’azienda Taylor Made Racing, la co-struzione dei tre pezzi in fi-bra di carbonio che ricopro-no come un vestito di alta sartoria le linee della belva.

Woolie sentiva che mancava qualcosa al progetto, che non era completo. Voleva render-lo unico. Lo ha fatto inse-

rendo un bel paio di ruote in carbonio Dymag e integrato nella carenatura le alette di derivazione F1 che non han-no il solo compito di donare alla Zero un’aria pistaiola, ma in combinazione con le so-spensioni WSBK Showa e le forcelle ancorate a tripli offset regolabili su misura di Attack Racing, riesce anche a stabiliz-zare la moto durante la guida sul filo del cordolo, al limite.

La pista è il suo habitat, la velocità è l’unità di misura del suo carattere. A domarla ci pro-vano la combinazione dei freni J. Juan Racing, Banke Perfor-mance e OEM Zero. La leva del freno è scomparsa dalla posizione convenzionale posta vicino alla pedana del pilota infatti Woolie ha installando un freno a pollice sul lato sinistro del manubrio sotto i coman-di delle frecce e del clacson.“Voglio sottolineare che questa non è una motocicletta normale o quella che sarebbe conside-rata una moto normale per me o per la maggior parte delle persone con cui sono cresciuto.

E’ qualcosa di diverso e spe-ciale” ha detto Woolie. Come non dargli ragione? Questa SR è una moto unica e speciale, è un progetto nato da una collaborazione quasi impossibile tra chi ha respirato e porta dentro di sé l’odore di benzina e la profondità del passato che ruggisce alla fine di ogni ciclo di combustione, e chi si gu-sta la potenza silenziosa degli elettroni e il design dei pacchi batterie incastonati come pre-ziosi dentro telai a traliccio.

They were each at their own corner, facing each other. In fact, after a few we-eks, the zero-emission missile manufacturer delivered a brand new Zero SR / S to the Deus headquarters in Venice Beach - the Emporium of Postmodern Activities.The expectations of the company with a green soul were very high, but Woolie surprised everyone with its creation. The project was very clear inside his head from the very begin-ning, he wanted to create a bike that would appear full of years and history as a true retro piece, but with innovative and futuristic components and a heart .. at Zero beats per minute ..Instead of using 3D renderings and aluminium as usual, he decided to hand-shape a draft of the en-

tire fairing with foam and subsequently commissioned Paul Taylor, owner of the Taylor Made Racing com-pany, to build the three pieces in carbon fibre that cover the lines of the beast like a haute couture dress.Woolie felt that something was missing from the project, that it was not complete. He wanted to make it unique. He did so by inserting a nice pair of Dymag carbon whe-els and integrated into the fairing the F1-derived fins, which not only have the task of giving the Zero a runway look, but in combination with the WSBK Showa suspen-sions and the triple anchored forks with Attack Racing’s bespoke adjustable offset, also manages to stabilise the bike while riding on the edge of the curb, on the limit.

The track is its habitat, speed is the unit of measurement of its character. The combination of J. Juan Racing, Banke Performance and OEM Zero brakes try to tame it. The brake lever has disappeared from the conventional position near the rider’s footrest, in fact Woolie has installed a thumb brake on the left side of the handlebar under the arrow and horn controls.

“I want to emphasise that this is not a normal motorcycle, or what would be considered a normal motorcycle for me, or for most of the people I grew up with. It’s something dif-ferent and special”, Woolie said. How not to agree with him? This SR is a unique and special bike, it is a project born from an almost impossible collaboration between those who have breathed and carry within themselves the smell of petrol and the depth of the past that roars at the end of each combustion cycle, and those who enjoy the silent power of electrons and the design of the battery packs embedded as precious in lattice frames.

Se questa moto passasse veloce su un lungomare, su una strada tortuosa di montagna, magari guidata dalla donna in foto, pro-babilmente notereste più lei che la moto stessa. E non perché la moto sia brutta, sia chiaro!

Questa realizzazione del garage itrocks bikes è la classica Spe-cial che piace a noi, con tan-tissima sostanza sotto un abito così ben realizzato da sembrare semplice, quando invece qui di semplice non c’è davvero nulla.

Il telaio e la ciclistica hanno subito interventi davvero pesan-ti: una radicale trasformazione da bi-ammortizzatore a mono-shock, avantreno R1 con relati-ve pompe e pinze radiali, me-ravigliosi cerchi Kineo a raggi... solo per citare le cose più im-portanti, perché poi queste parti devi saperle anche montare ed adattare e il fatto che tut-ti questi lavori siano homema-de fa aumentare la stima nei confronti di questi ragazzi. Le moto bisogna saperle costruire!

Il motore non ha subito grossi interventi, ma soprattutto per-ché il 4 cilindri XJR 1300 non ha mai difettato in coppia e personalità. Proprio per sotto-lineare il carattere del moto-re, sono stati aggiunti cornetti di aspirazione e uno scarico 4 in 2 realizzato rigorosamen-te a mano con terminali SC-Project che calzano a pennello.Anche il lavoro sulla carroz-zeria non è stato da meno: sempre realizzato a mano: un monoscocca interamente in al-luminio, dalle linee sinuose - soprattutto nella zona delle

gambe - più lineari verso la coda - poi il piccolo parafango anteriore.

Particolare che ci piace tanto? La sella biposto! Segno che questa è una moto pensata e realizzata per essere usata e non una Showbike. Bravi.Completano la realizzazione il so-lito elenco di accessori di qualità, ma che qui fanno da contorno soprattutto al grande lavoro ma-nuale, esaltandolo. Se possiamo permetterci una nota, dire che la verniciatura non rende giustizia alla customizzazione. Forse un pò trop-po lineare nella tonalità di ros-so scelto, probabilmente su una moto di questo livello avremmo apprezzato una grafica o un co-lore un pò più ‘emozionale’ ma, come detto, di sostanza ce n’è tanta per una moto realizzata per essere davvero strapazzata tra cur-ve e tornanti: ben fatto ragazzi!_

If this bike went fast along a sea-front, on a winding mountain road, perhaps ridden by the woman in the photo, you would probably notice her more than the bike itself. And not because the bike is bad, mind you!

This creation of the itrocks bikes garage is the classic Special that we like, with a lot of substance under a suit so well made that it seems simple, when instead the-re is really nothing simple here.

The frame and the chassis have undergone really heavy interven-tions: a radical transformation from a twin-shock absorber to mono-shock, R1 front end with relative

radial master cylinder and calipers, wonderful Kineo spoked rims ... just to name the most important things. Because when using these parts you must also know how to as-semble and adapt them, and the fact that all these modifications are homemade increases the esteem towards these guys. The motorcycli-sts must be able to build them!

The engine has not undergone major modification, but above all because the 4-cylinder XJR 1300 has ne-ver lacked torque and personality. In order to underline the character of the engine, intake filters and a 4 into 2 exhaust made strictly by hand have been added with SC-Project mufflers that fit perfectly.Even the bodywork was no less effort: always done by hand: a monocoque entirely in aluminium, with sinuous lines - especially in the leg area - more linear towards the tail - and finished with the small front fender.

Detail that we like so much? The two-seater saddle! A sign that this is a bike designed and built to be used and not a Showbike. Well done.The usual list of quality accessories completes this achievement, all of which surround the great manual work, enhancing it. If we can afford a note, to say that the painting does not do justice to customi-sation. Perhaps a little too linear in the chosen red shade, probably on a bike of this level we would have appreciated a slightly more ‘emotional’ graphic or colour but, as mentioned, there is a lot of sub-stance for a bike made to be re-ally scrambled between curves and hairpin bends: well done guys! _

On the small, British island of Jersey, nestled between En-gland and France, The Man-sell Collection – a business venture of former Formula One World Champion, Nigel Man-sell – sold and serviced cars for years. In 2020, everything changed. Alongside a global pandemic, The Ramp was born; in rolled motorcycles, out rolled cars (at least, to a se-cond site east of the island).

Greg Mansell, son of Nigel, entered the family business as CEO in 2019 and quickly be-came sole agent for BMW Motorrad. As well as new mo-dels, The Mansell Collection now offer a replete and varied selection of quality, pre-loved motorcycles and run a sta-te-of-the-art service centre. As well as all that, Greg has re-cently opened a tattoo studio next to his father’s museum.

“My father always said to me he’d kill me before I rode a motorbike or get a tattoo... but here I am, selling bikes and offering premium tattoos under his roof, and he couldn’t be prouder. It works and it’s exci-ting. I want to push the boun-daries of riding style, enginee-ring and the many challenges riders face in the modern day.”

The Ramp Custom focuses on the “possibility” of what motorcycles can become.

Steve Burt, well known as Custom Bike Steve, is an expert in mo-torcycle customi-sation, a skill he’s been wor-king on since the mid-eighties.

“These days, the only motorcycles I’m interested in are one-offs, old-school so-methings with a different sty-le, where speed isn’t what’s im-portant, but the retro feel and look of the bikes are.” Steve says.

So, the 1982 Ya-maha XV 750 Vi-rago, The Ramp Custom’s first build, was born.

The bike, with its cross-coun-try, cruising cha-racter, has been transformed into a modern-day s u p e r - b i k e .

Custom Bike Steve began the build by stripping it down. Once the Virago was bare, Steve fa-bricated a new seat subframe and seat pan, as well as new tank mounts to accept the fuel tank’s altered po-sition, designed to hide the bat-tery and electri-cs beneath it.

Honda CBR 1000; the headstock is modified to fit the Virago frame. I re-built the front brake callipers, moved the footrests and fitted new racing brake lines,” explains Steve. Modern technology pieces the Virago together, from the single YSS shock absor-ber, keyless ignition backed by a Motogadget, to the mini speedo and fairy lights.

“Whether we’re making our own wild things up, or going Bobber, Café Ra-cer or Brat style, I always like to keep it funky but modern - give the old some new but in its own style,” says Steve. “Minute details, like the stitching of the seat, are very important to me; colours bring the whole thing together.” The exhaust and RAM air intake system has been custom built to enhance the look and

performance of this brat style Café Racer. The bike looks slight but solid with a custom-built aluminium disk that fills the back wheel, adding nicely to the desired aggressive effect.

The Ramp Custom, as well as working on commission projects, is boldly taking brand new models into the customisation realm. Greg tells us, “BMW’s brand new R 18 is currently in the workshop. We’ve taken inspiration from the 1930s racing bikes to turn this cruiser into a sportier machine, an homage to the old, grittier days of motor-sport.”_

Cosa accomuna i fratelli Zima del team ROD e Darwin? L’evoluzione.

Perché se non l’aveste nota-to, sono riusciti ad evolvere ed esaltare una moto che di per sè nasce come ultimo sta-dio del suo essere; mi spiego meglio: La BUELL XB12S, già fuori dalla fabbrica è un modello estremo, in tutto: cor-tissima, leggerissima, piccolis-sima, cattivissima... insomma, prendete qualsiasi aggettivo che vi viene in mente ed esa-speratelo. Fatto? Bene, quella è la descrizione del modello originale, ora mettiamoci tutti d’accordo per trovare dei nuo-vi aggettivi per descrivere la BUELL che abbiamo sotto gli occhi, perché io di usare parole che esistono non ho voglia e penso che non sia rispettoso.

David, uno dei fratelli, parla di questa moto come il suo amore platonico, o forse an-che più di questo; avverto dalle sue parole un sentimento che si avvicina di più a quello di un padre, che crea la sua creatura e la ama follemente, e pur sapendo che non sarà lui a viverla, dà il massimo perché sia la cosa più bella sulla faccia della terra. Diciamo che trovo conferma di questo mio pensiero guardando tutti i pezzi fatti a mano, tutte quelle parti eliminate dal concept ori-ginale che rendono quasi più naturale la linea della moto.

Per realizzare questo progetto i fratelli Zima hanno usato molto materiale italiano firmato Metris, seguendo un’unica direttiva da parte del proprietario: lo sti-

le Holographic Hammer. Seguito alla perfezione e, a mio parere, correttissima l’idea di risaltare la parte fondamentale del modello, senza cui non sarebbe così ico-nico: il motore. Ragazzi parlia-mone, anzi non parliamone. Ma avete visto lo scarico? Volete dirmi che solo a me ricordano le corna di un toro? E nell’in-sieme tutta la moto, non vi fa pensare ad un animale estrema-mente arrabbiato che scalcia e sta per attaccarvi? Tutto questo, con eleganza però, perché la cura dei dettagli non manca e lo vediamo nella sella, nel faro anteriore come nelle frecce alla fine delle manopole, nel por-tatarga e nel colore. Il codino fa da antifurto, infatti è cosi affilato che se qualcuno prova a toccarla viene tagliato. Sotto la forcella si intravede un am-mortizzatore di sterzo. Insomma, di tutta la moto c’è poco da dire. Allora.. avete creato gli aggettivi giusti? Se siete rimasti senza parole va bene uguale, e anche se ve ne è rimasta qualcuna, quando capirete cosa c’è sopra il serbatoio avrete la stessa espressione di Adamo davanti ad Eva. Complimenti a David e Martin per aver ‘creato’, perché non succede spesso._

#26 | SUPER SPECIALas the last stage of its being; let me explain: The BUELL XB12S, is already an extreme model straight out of the factory, in everything: very short, very light, very small, very bad ... In short, take any adjective that comes to mind and exacerbate it. Done? Well, that is the description of the original model, now let’s all agree to find new adjectives to describe the BUELL we have before our eyes, because I don’t want to use words that exist and I think it’s not respectful.

David, one of the brothers, speaks of this bike as his platonic love, or perhaps even more than that; I feel from his words a feeling that is closer to that of a father, who creates his creature and loves her madly, even knowing that he will not be the one to live it, he gives his best to make it the most beautiful thing on the face of the earth. Let’s say that I find my thou-ghts confirmed by looking at all the hand-made pie-ces, all those parts eliminated from the original concept that make the line of the bike almost more natural.

To carry out this project, the Zima brothers used a lot of Italian material signed by Metris, following a single directive from the owner: the Holographic Hammer sty-le. Perfectly followed and, in my opinion, a very correct idea of highlighting the fundamental part of the model, without which it would not be so iconic: the engine. Guys let’s talk about it, indeed let’s not talk about it. But have you seen the exhaust? Do you want to tell me that they remind only me of a bulls horns? And on the whole, doesn’t the whole bike make you think of an extremely angry animal that kicks and is about to attack you? All this, with elegance, however, because the attention to detail is not lacking. We see it in the saddle, in the headlight as in the indicators at the end of the bars, in the license plate holder and in the co-lour. The tail acts as an anti-theft device, in fact it is so sharp that if someone tries to touch it, they will cut themselves. A steering damper can be seen under the fork. In short, there is little to say about the whole bike.

So .. have you created the right adjectives? If you are left speechless, that’s fine, and even if you have some left over, when you understand what is above the tank you will have the same expression as Adam in front of Eve. Congratulations to David and Martin for ha-ving ‘created’ this, because it doesn’t happen often ._

A través de su autenticidad y singularidad, Re-gis Guyot, se las arregla para transmitir su pasión porsensaciones extremas que se expresan generalmente a través del surf y las motos. Contemplando el contenido de sus publicaciones en Instagram, podemos obtener una muestra de su fervor, y de lo que significa hacer lo que a uno realmente le gusta. Captu-rar su estética y expresarla en tinta, es para mí un placer, repli-cando a la vez mi pasión por las motos. Cada uno de sus pe-queños detalles, trabajando coherentemente, forman la complejidad del dibujo a la hora de ilustrar a Guyot. El hecho de que tam-bién está interesado en el mundo del estilo, juega un papel feno-menal, al ofrecer la oportunidad de añadir más detalles al dibujo. Guyot fue contactado por una fantástica marca de ropa italiana, Fay, seguramente por la misma razón que me atrajo a mí, su impecable mezcla de motos y estilo. Cuando vi por primera vez estas fotos, sentí una inspiración instantánea provocada por esa combinación ideal. Al igual que Regis también soy un hombre familiar, a los dos nos gusta transmitir nuestro amor por las motos a las personas cercanas. Como a Guyot le ocurre con su hija, quien a veces aparece en moto con él, lo mismo me pasa a mí con la mía. Espero que esta admiración por las motos se mantenga a través de mis futuras generaciones._

Through authenticity and uniqueness, Regis Guyot, manages to con-vey his passion for extreme sensations usually expressed through surf and motorcycles. Through Guyot’s Instagram feed, users are able to get a taste of fervor and a glimpse of what doing what one ado-res is really like. By capturing his art and putting it into fine ink, it’s a pleasure to replicate my love for motorcycles through Regis Guyot’s experiences. Every small detail working coherently forms the complexity of the drawing therefore when illustrating Guyot, the fact that he is also interested in the world of style plays a phenome-nal role in offering me the opportunity of adding more detail to my drawing. Guyot was reached out by an Italian clothing brand, Fay, for the same reason that I was intrigued about him, the mix of between his motorcycles and style. When I first came across these pictures, I felt an instantaneous inspiration provoked by this ideal combination. I, as well as Regis Guyot, are both family men who keep our families very present in our lives. We both seemingly have passed on our love for motorcycles to our dearest ones, such as Guyot to his daughter who sometimes features on his Instagram on a motorbike with him and I, similarly, to mine. I hope this admira-tion for motorcycles is maintained throughout my future generations._

BMW fece uscire la K100 insieme ad un numero così cospicuo di brevetti che è stato praticamente impossibile imitarla e, di fatto, mi-gliorarla da parte della concorrenza ed il fatto che, negli anni, non sia variata è responsabile del suo poco charme, rendendola molto più simile ad una macchina che ad una moto, in quanto ad emozioni tra-smesse. La nuova vita della K, però, è sta-ta resa possibile grazie alla facile reperibilità di basi a costo di mer-cato rendendola, negli anni, la base perfetta per poter realizzare una Special: pochi choppe-rebbero un R90/S o un R80 G/S prima serie, considerando il valore di mercato come mez-zo originale, giusto?Il problema delle moto da per la preparazione di una Special è che, quando iniziano ad an-dare di moda, invado-no le officine, le strade e le bacheche di tutto il mondo creando una specie di assuefazione al modello: tutti tendo-no a fare le stesse modifiche, più o meno nello stesso modo dan-do come risultato che le moto si somiglino un po’ tutte. Il ‘K’ ha diverse criticità che, di per se, non la rendo-no una moto più sem-plice da customizzare:

l’iniezione, l’ABS, il cardano massic-cio, un motore a sogliola che poco si sposa col con-cetto di “ legge-rezza “ sono solo alcuni degli aspetti che farebbero de-sistere i più. Ed è qui che entrano in gioco i ragaz-zi di Arton Whe-els Garage (@ar-tonwheelsgarage ): per evitare banali cliché derivati dal mondo dei K han-no subito messo le cose in chiaro ed hanno prati-camente scarica-to un catalogo di accessori e parti di gran pregio sti-listico e meccani-co addosso alla bestiola che così ha guadagnato: avantreno a steli rovesciati di pro-venienza Benelli, un’impostazione di guida chiaramente racing con semi-manubri ribassa-ti e cupolino di ispirazione aereo-nautica, uno col-lettore di scarico flussato artigianale 4 in 1 con fishtail che fa tanto grida-re al mondo ho-trod americano, un mono posteriore parallelo all’asfalto con triangolazione completamente ri-

handlebars and aeronautical-inspired wind-shield, a 4-in-1 handcrafted fluxed exhaust manifold with fishtail silencer that makes the hotrod world shout so much American, a rear mono parallel to the asphalt with triangulation completely redesigned to lea-ve the configuration of the rear free and symmetrical, with spoked rims, of which the rear comes from G / S, and a quantity of valuable accessories to embellish this gem in its black and gold glossy finish. Nothing is left to chance and what we liked, more than other K’s, is the harmonious respect for proportions and the stylistic choice of the project that surfs between steampunk, Ame-rican custom and technological modernity._

Se siete dei patiti della mec-canica raffinata, se dedica-te ore al perfetto settaggio delle sospensioni della vostra amata, se per voi la posizio-ne di guida è un elemento importante, questa non è si-curamente la moto per voi.

Questa “attrezzatura” veloce è per chi ha il pelo sullo sto-maco, per chi vuole sentire dritto nella schiena ogni mini-mo avvallamento della strada appollaiato su un misero selli-no con una postura al manu-brio assurda e con gli scari-chi che urlano a squarciagola. Per ottenere queste sensazioni parecchio crude, si è partiti da un motore Harley David-son degli anni ‘70 elaborato alla morte, calzato in un tela-io dal retrotreno rigorosamen-te rigido e con una forcella anoressica, un serbatoio, una sella in rigido cuoio e l’om-bra di parafango posteriore.

Fine! Un’impresa il solo an-darci sul dritto date le spaven-tose vibrazioni e l’assoluta pre-carietà dello sterzo, simpatiche doti peraltro amplificate dalla spinta del motore che, seppur attempato, è in grado di dare prestazioni notevoli. E il bel-lo è che non si tratta affatto di una show bike o di un mezzo da accelerazione: l’in-tento di questa moto è quello di percorrere le comuni strade e di viaggiare allegramente.

L’avevo detto che bisogna avere un discreto fisico per cavalcarla ed avere un’indo-le decisamente ..wild, vero?_

If you are a fan of refined mechanics, if you spend hours on the perfect suspension set-ting of your beloved, if the riding position is an important element for you, this is de-finitely not the bike for you.

This fast “equipment” is for those who have a hair on their stomach, for those who want to feel every slight dip in the road punishing their back, per-ched on a poor saddle with an absurd handlebar posture and with the exhausts screaming at the top of their lungs. To get these very raw sensations, we started with a 70s Harley Davidson engine elaborated to death, shod in a rigorously rigid rear frame and with an anorexic fork, a tank, a saddle in rigid leather and the sha-dow of rear fender. End of!

A feat just to go straight given the frightening vibrations and the absolute precariousness of the steering, nice qualities amplified by the thrust of the engine which, although aged, is able to give remarkable performance.

And the beauty is that it is not at all a show bike or an acceleration vehicle: the in-tent of this bike is to travel the common roads and tra-vel happily. I told you you have to have a good body to ride it and have a de-cidedly wild nature, right? _
